It does exactly what it says it will do. I absolutely feel like it would deter an animal which is what I mostly bought it for. Very loud and the flashing light would disorient an animal I believe. I especially love that it's so easy to set off, which is what you'd need if you're attacked. Perfect in an emergency. Size is just right. Not cumbersome at all not so small if drop it in a scuffle. I bought this to keep on a lanyard around my neck as a coyote deterrent when walking my dog. It's very loud and the pull mechanism is solid. You just pull the pin and it lights up and puts out a screaming shrill. You can chuck it and use it as sort of a flash bang and it will take a licking and keep on ticking. Easy to reinsert the pin and than it's silent again. No issues with the mechanism at all. Recommended!

So far so good. Pleased with the alarm. A little tough to set it off but thats ok because you don’t want this going off by accident. It seems loud, light is great - just hope you never have to use it. It’s for my 16 year old who just got her license. Momma’s worried. It got 4 stars because of the color. On my monitor it’s clearly mustard… but the name of the color is metallic gold and that’s exactly what color it is. We would’ve rather had mustard. No biggie in the big scheme of things. Will update if needed later. Happy with purchase so far. Would highly recommend. .

I bought this a year ago and it works great and gives me peace of mind. However, when I went to change the battery a year later, I couldn’t find instructions on how to do so. I had to look them up. So here you go: Holding the pull tab that activates the alarm, twist it and it will pop open the casing (you can also use a small flat head screw driver at the indent on the side to gently pry the casing up all around). Gently remove the back of the casing and you will find two tiny black screws on the green chip at the top left and bottom right. Remove those and you can gently lift the chip off of the casing without disconnecting it. On the other side of the chip you will find where the batteries are. It takes (2) CR2023 batteries. Make sure to put them in so the positive sides (which has the writing on the battery) are facing up. Place the chip with replaced batteries back into the housing. Replace the screws and snap the housing back together. If you google “how to replace birdie battery” there is a 0:42 video at the top of the search results that shows you how to do this as well. Hope this helps!

The media could not be loaded. It’s loud, looks nice, and is easy to use. However mine is too sensitive. Imagining that I hang it on my daughter’s backpack, it can shout out easily if she runs or play hard with friends. So I will return it because it works but not the way it should be.
