I got it for my 7th grader, it has padding on the back that help with back issues and has straps in the front to store sweatshirts. At first, I thought it was going to be too small, but it has a bunch of room left even after fitting, a binder 6 notebooks, folders, pencil case, and laptop. She has received so many compliments on it. This backpack will definitely last a long time. I normally get her a new backpack every year, but if you are looking for it to look new and fresh after I long time I would get black.

Every backpack these days seems to have straps that have “padding” that is incredibly hard and stiff and hurt anybody who has decently sized trapezius muscles. This one is unfortunately no exception. The so-called “padded” portion of the straps also seem awkwardly short, having just enough length to curve around the shoulder and that’s it, meaning it places the chest strap weirdly high on the chest. The bag seems like a nice material and would definitely have enough space for work and school, in my opinion (I pack a bit light; laptop, water bottle, lunch, notebook, pencil bag, small umbrella, other small odds and ends like earbuds, chapstick, and meds). Fits a 24 oz Owala water bottle easily, in fact the water bottle pocket was loose around this bottle and I’d worry it would slide out if you bend over as there’s no way to tighten it. For reference, I am 5’7”, 125 lbs, and have less in the chest and broader shoulders than many women so the women’s-cut straps don’t really matter. I actually found the men’s fit more comfortable, even though the straps were still rock hard. I ended up returning both cuts and going with the Osprey Daylite 20L bag instead as it was infinitely more comfortable and had better fabric for rain, though it is not quite as spacious.
