I took this jacket on a trip to Scotland, and it was a very efficient option for travel. My only issue is that the inside jacket is kinda cheap. It’s not we’re soft. More polyester feeling. I mean I know it is partially poly, but it just feels cheap. It worked though.

    • Really nice jacket & a good deal
I just received this jacket and am planning to take it to the 69th parallel N - in late summer where temps range from 45 - 60...so I need a combo of warmth and water repellency. I ordered a L, and it fits as expected - I border between an M & L, but am big up top, this did NOT feel too snug with the lining and was loose without. It would easily work as a jacket for rain alone, or for colder days with a long-sleeved shirt and both pieces together. I was hesitant to buy the Fig color because I was concerned it would be too purple, but it's a beautiful dark maroon-purple and the liner is a nice toned down red. at 90 bucks it was a pretty stellar deal for an NF jacket and 1/2 of the sale price at other stores. ALSO worth noting that the outer fabric is smooth with no texture - some of the other jackets (green & white) appear to have a textured fabric that makes it look more like a windbreaker - this does not and looks like a very nice garment. ... show more

    • Great jacket.
I’m 5’ 2”, a 32 DD, and a size 7-9 in the hip area (I have wider hips). I bought a size Small And it fits perfect. The inner shell is snug, which I like, and the outer a bit looser so i can probably wear a hoody comfortably underneath the rain jacket. If you like it a little looser in the arms, probably go up a size. Great length for me. Not bulky, which is a plus. It feels like the perfect weight for California fall camping, or even some Cali snow. The ONLY reason this got 4 stars instead of 5 (I really wish amazon did half stars) is I was zipping and unzipping the jacket and the zipper snags on the jacket as soon as it hits the neck section. Every time. I haven’t seperated the inner/outer shell yet to see if it’s just the outer’s zip that does it but I just know it’s going to irritate me when I have to deal with it. This coat is pretty cute and I'm happy with the purchase for the price. The interior collar material feels a little cheap to me but the rest of it feels and looks fine. I like that the colors are a little bit different from most of the other triclimate coats I've seen, but still neutral. I do recommend at this price. Honestly it was cheap enough that I worried about it being legit but seems to be genuine, and I've worn in the rain with no problems, it works as well and keeps me as warm as other North Face I've had in the past. ... show more

    • Not the usual quality and slightly small
I typically consistently wear a small in all tops including North Face but this jacket was just a bit tight. I could wear it comfortably but the shoulders left me in a bit of a “Fat Man in a Little Coat” feeling. I could manage, however wearing a long sleeve shirt under the fleece part of the jacket was uncomfortable because the fleece was so soft that it more stuck to my shirt. The final straw, so to peak, was the massive hole I found in the left zip pocket of the shell coat. It is like it just came unseamed. Considering this is my first time wearing the jacket, this can’t be considered normal wear-and-tear, not even to mention it’s North Face. This shouldn’t happen with this brand. I will be returning for the other 3-1 I was considering instead. ... show more

I like that the jacket is flexible since I live in the plain states and the weather can fluctuate by the minute! I like that the inner jacket zips to the outer shell, attaches at the hood and at each sleeve. I like that the hood has a bill but also has the ability to tighten with a draw string. My only non positive remark is the jacket I received had a tear in a pocket. That probably has more to do with the seller and not the product itself. ... show more

I got this as replacement/upgrade to the venture 2 and my GF LOVES it. It’s warmer, a little more fitted and fits perfect. Her favorite feature is the removable inner fleece layer that can be worn on its own once removed, then the shell can be worn as a light rain jacket/wind breaker OR layer together for a nice warm winter coat.     • Fits Great, Warm, but White is NOT White
Fits great. The fleece makes it super warm, but this is coming from an Oregonian where it never goes below 30 and when I tried it on it was in the mid 60s. It fits really well and I like that it’s basically two garments in one. However, I read a review where they said the white was really grey, and I should have listened to them. The pictures didn’t look that bad so I figured it wouldn’t actually be that noticeable, but it is. I bought a white jacket and I am undeniably holding a grey one. What’s weird, is the fleece is snow white so you can see the difference really easily. I’m disappointed that it’s not white, but I’m so happy with everything else that I don’t know if I’m going to bother returning it. However, if I’d had known how it looked I probably would have bought a black one instead. ... show more
