I couldn’t be happier with my North Face Recon backpack. I use it daily for work and travel, and it’s hands-down one of the best backpacks I’ve owned. The laptop compartment is well-padded and fits my 15” laptop perfectly. There’s also plenty of space in the main compartment for books, clothes, or gear, plus a ton of smartly placed pockets to keep everything organized. The front pocket is great for quick-access items, and the fleece-lined pocket is perfect for sunglasses or a phone. The best part? It’s incredibly comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded. Loving this backpack. I bought it for all my travels. I use it as one of my carry-ons on an airplane. I can fit a ton in it and it still fits fine under the seat in front of me. I recently washed it because it got soaked in ocean water. Looks good as new

I think north face makes some of the best back packs. The number of convenient pockets for your carry on items, to the space they have for your computer or laptop is cleverly put together. There are convenient pockets everywhere on this bag. And above all it is a very attractive looking bag. Whether you use it for hiking, traveling, or using it for school - it should be the top of everyone's shopping list. If i had one complaint it would be that they come up with better colors that might serve people with more conservative tastes. Some of the color combination that they have are just downright ugly, but i guess they have to offer a wide range for people (who don't have good taste in colors). ;)

After two years of faithful service, I can confidently say that my North Face Recon backpack deserves an award for “Best Supporting Actor in a Student’s Life.” This bag has seen me through countless early morning classes, late-night study sessions, and dramatic dashes to the library before it closes. Let’s be real: I bought this bag with the hopes of looking like a rugged adventurer ready to conquer mountains. Instead, it’s mainly been my trusty sidekick for hauling around textbooks, notebooks, and the occasional snack (because who can study without a granola bar?). The durability of this backpack is legendary. I’ve dropped it, stuffed it, and even used it as a makeshift pillow during those long lectures where I might have nodded off. Yet, it remains unscathed—like a superhero that just won’t quit! The zippers? Still zipping. The straps? Still supporting my questionable life choices in book selection! With all the pockets, I feel like I could hide a small village in there. I’ve got a pocket for my laptop, a pocket for my water bottle, and even a secret stash for the candy I hide from my study group (shhh, don’t tell!). Overall, this North Face Recon backpack has been an absolute gem for carrying my books and the weight of my academic stress. I like how this looks and it has a good deal of useful organization. Two external water bottle pouches that don't dip too much into the main compartment. The back compartment is large enough for a water bladder or a computer along with other admin items. I like that I can use it for a hike and then turn around and use it for work. Its just one compartment without separate organization for a computer, iPad...etc, but I like that better as it does not take up a lot of room. Note that there is not a lot of padding under it so a computer will bang against the floor if you drop it. The main compartment is just a big dump pouch. The main problem with this pack is in this compartment. The admin compartment, when full, will dip significantly into this large area and take up a lot of room. This is a problem with the pack and the main reason why I dropped it to four stars. That admin area should not take up room into the main space. The admin pouch has enough organization while also allowing you to see what is in it. The last compartment is a big fleece-like lined space. Its a big space for sunglasses and is strange how the zipper is half way through it so its not a good compartment to open while it is standing up. Lastly, the dump pouch is really useful to store some quick items you need. I just wish it was not as see through so you are now showing off what is stashed in it. Padding on the back and straps are OK. All in all, its a decent backpack that could use a few tweaks to get it into the five star category.

My husband is a teacher and he purchased this backpack for his school materials - Chromebook, binders, books, etc. The backpack is great quality, stylish and big enough to hold everything he needs for school. He’s also planning to use it to travel for a weekend trip coming up as it is big enough and versatile enough for travel, too. It has a padded packet for easy Chromebook/laptop storage as well.
