    • Best shoes ever
These are the best shoes I have ever owned, hands down. Too bad they are so expensive because I'll be buying these again and again. They have a firm sole which is actually great. I used to think soft soles were best, but they get hot and make your feet work more, plus the soft padding wears out quickly. These are literally all-day comfortable. They breathe well and keep your feet cool in the summer, yet also seem to be water resistant, so when I spill something (like tomato sauce) it just wipes right off. If they get dirty you can simply spray them and pat dry, and they look new again. I have worn the black ones for over a year and they still look new. I have never had a shoe that could do that! The fabric at the top of the heel backing has worn through, but otherwise the shoes have held up incredibly well. I wear them morning to night, and no need to change shoes when I hit the trail! No issues with seams splitting as has happened with so many other brands. Yes they are expensive but you won't need to buy shoes as often, and these keep their good looks, so ultimately I think they provide great value. ... show more

Great shoe! Even if they do run a bit big. They were snug at first, but after wearing them for a week, they seemed to grow a half size. The padding squished down and went from an 11 to an 11 and a 1/2. Not had that happen before with a pair of shoes, so beware. If you war an 11, go 10.5!

This is the seventh pair of TNF ULTRA’s I’ve owned in the past 15 years and I’m very happy with fit and wear. Yes, they are cheaper in materials but not quality. The sole holds up to my expectations and DRYVENT is ok for being water resistant (not as waterproof as Goretex). All my clothing from TNF has been five stars except shoes produced between 2020-1. The pandemic affected their quality and then there was the FutureLight problem. Now, North Face is back on-track making fantastic functional clothing for men and women who love the outdoors but hate to be cold and wet. Do I sound like a commercial? Update 11-18-2024: TNF Ultra 112 are still going strong after a year of constant wear. With the color being black, they still look sharp. I don’t mind Dryvent as much as I thought. Going to purchase another pair today as they are on sale. ... show more

    • Always a great choice, miss the 110’s.

Not a true replacement for the 110 model that has been discontinued. Both are waterproof, good traction sole, comfortable when broken in. Both will keep your feet warm if you like it or not aka waterproof keeps water out but not let air in. The 112 don’t feel like the heal support is good as before along with the sole wearing out quicker. My 110’s just looked better than the 112’s after the same amount of time. North Face doesn’t skimp on lace length, first order of business cut off about 10”. Yes I will purchase these again. ... show more

I would not want to try to outrun a wild animal in these -- the heel is so low (and loose?) that they would immediately fly off. The loose feeling may or may not grow on me once I've worn them awhile. On the bright side, they slip on and off very easily without untying. The shoes are very comfortable and provide very good support. They are lightweight. Unfortunately, they are not waterproof. After just a couple of months of use moisture seeps in easily from the toe area. I wish I could return them.
