I had this jacket before and loved it! I bought it again and it seems exactly the same as the old one. The only visible difference I notice is that there is no inside pocket that I coveted, and they added a draw string at the bottom. It is wind resistant as I live in the Bay Area and I zip up when the wind kicks up at sunset and feel protected. North Face added a draw string at the bottom which is a nice addition to have in windy conditions. The zipper quality might have been slightly higher in my old jacket, as it seems like the zippers pinch the fabric if I do not zip up carefully. However, it is not a deal breaker. I will not make the same mistake of having it dry cleaned this time. I made that mistake with my old jacket and it altered the color: the black faded to a grey with a reddish undertone. I read the care instructions on the label and it said ‘machine wash’ in warm/cool water in gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat. It is meant to be washed and not dry cleaned. Primarily, I had to buy a new one because I cannot wear faded clothes at work. This jacket became a staple in my wardrobe for years and I highly recommend! It is true to size. ... show more
