    • My 6th grader absolutely adores her backpack!
I thought that this backpack would be HUGE for my daughter’s tiny, 11 year old body, but I was wrong. If she was any smaller, I’d disagree with that, but she’s roughly 4 foot 8 inches, and it works well for her. Especially now that she’s in junior high and needs to carry more books, a quality backpack was and is imperative. She loves the look and the style of this North Face back pack, and it has all the room that she needs for all of her stuff. It’s a winner through and through. It definitely will last, as North Face quality is outstanding. I never had one of their backpacks, but all the jackets and fleeces we’ve owned, they have absolutely never disappointed! I highly recommend this backpack 110%! Yeah, you do pay more because of the brand, but for the quality and comfort, it’s well worth the cost. It’s heavy duty, and the straps are very comfortable on her shoulders and back. Comfort is very important to me as a mother to a young child. I know this backpack is more than others although $70 isn’t horrible. It’s on the cheaper end for all north face backpacks. I had another backpack I believe I bought it off Amazon, and had much more space. However, it was too big IMO and was very bulky. And being the person I am, I chalked it full of stuff. I am kinda a pack rat and this backpack forces me to carry less stuff, which is a good thing!! I have more than enough room for what I actually need instead of carrying around 6 thousand page books with me. Plus I basically got it for free with credit card reward money. So this backpack is an all around win. ... show more

    • The small front pocket is worthless!
The front pocket on this bag is small and only goes about a third of the way down the front of the bag. If you load this pocket up (it can hold a ton!), it blocks the way from accessing things in the main (large) compartment. You basically have to remove whatever is in the front small compartment to get to the main backpack compartment. It’s super annoying. It would be so much better if that compartment went all the way down! I do like the water bottle pockets, they are huge. The laptop sleeve is good and the straps are super comfy! ... show more

This backpack holds everything my daughter needs. It looks great and has held up very well over the past two months. This is her second north face backpack and they are her favorite by far. They hold up well to the abuse a high school athlete puts it through. The picture shows it after being used for two months and being drug to school, practices, games, shoved in lockers and on the bus. It still looks brand new. ... show more

I’ve used North Face products for years for outdoors work, camping, etc, and they have never let me down. This back pack was for my daughters school books and computer. A little more expensive that your average school back pack, but not exorbitant, especially when you consider that I’ve bought a new school pack for her every year that doesn’t last until the next. This pack is well constructed, padded in the right places to protect her shoulders and her laptop, durable and has already lasted longer than her previous “fashion” packs. You can buy two “fashion” packs that won’t last the whole school year or get this one that will last until college for the same price. ... show more

It's an OK bag and I'm sure it will last my Granddaughter through the year. It's roomy and is well compartmentalized and....she says it's comfortable. The real reason she wanted this one is because it is 'all the rage' at school. You ain't 'in' if you don't have a NorthFace. I offered to buy her a killer backpack that is a cut above this one but she wasn't having any part of that. No criticism of NorthFace. If she's happy, Grandfather is happy ... show more
