First off I am an ametuer military historian (former US Army vet). I collect as accurate of artifacts as I can for my library. I just started collecting Greek and Roman artifacts. As an example I purchased the Condor Gladius before the Segmentata to go w it. Great quality. I was trying to find armor that looked as real as possible to go w the gladius and helmet. As this was made in India I was not too hopeful. But price was right and I hoped the brass lining around the steel would give it, the plates a more thick authentic look. To my surprise this somewhat inexpensive Lorica Segmentata looks like pieces I’ve seen in the museums of Rome and London! In some ways, it is rough as it looks like it was handmade in a shop in India. Which actually makes it more authentic as obviously Ancient Rome did not have factories. But....unlike the mass produced shiny Chinese factory replicas you see in gift shops, knife stores and malls, this home shop India made armor looks sturdy, authentic and museum quality!!!! It almost looks as authentic as what you saw actors wearing in the movie Gladiator (not that the movie was perfectly accurate, it was fiction, but I mean this stuff looks n feels like you could walk into 100 AD and respectably get yourself slaughtered by a Barbarian horde in style!!!! The only nitpick, it is minor is that the body torso metal plates are completely cyliner shaped meaning they don’t taper down farther at the waist. More expensive replicas due taper at the bottom of your rib cage. But knowing lazy American body shapes, ie we are FAT, it is better they not taper these as then no one could get their fast food bodies into them!!!! If you are like I was, trying to figure out the most realistic, historically accurate yet authentic on somewhat of a budget Segmentata out there, you can’t go wrong w this one. Armor is not too shiny like other cheap stuff, ie you won’t look like a shiny Battlestar Galactica Cylon. The armor has an ancient metal iron look. Also I see the brass lining on all edges as indispensable in order to give the armor some depth and protect from sharp raw edges other suits don’t have. Finally for those folk that LARP or like to get the crap knocked out of them in real duels w wooden swords, this armor will hold up and allow you to take the beating you been looking for and deserve. It wears real nice. I fence, and I feel I could wear this while having a go at someone fence. Mobility no problem. I believe this armor was the Deepeeka made piece that many vendors carry on Amazon. I will stick w and try this brand again.

I was honestly expecting something cheap that looks decent from a distance but was happily surprised at the craftsmanship and sturdiness of the armor. It fits great and is decently adjustable. It's a really good looking piece and great for the price.

I am very happy with this armor. I'm 5' 8" and about 2000lbs and the fit is excellent. The only thing that wasn't quite right was the length of the leather laces for the back and front. They just make it, but I would prefer them to be a little bit longer. That's an easy enough fix. It looks great, especially with all the articles I got to go with it.
