I heard the hype of this game for years and years. Obviously it is regarded highly in the community, but by the time I bought a PS4 it was a bit old. I can only say that this game aged exceptionally well. It still looks great, the gameplay is fun and engaging, but why I came to write this review is the story. HANDS DOWN, the BEST story to any game I've ever played. The characters and their personalities are just perfect. The voice acting, the mannerisms of the characters during gameplay depending on the mood, the cut scenes. They are all just brilliantly done. If for no other reason, buy this game just for the story. For the price it's at now, it's a steal. This is a game you HAVE to experience. I've never felt so strongly toward the characters of a game. It was more along the lines of reading a book or watching a movie. I urge you to give this game a play through, you won't regret it. ... show more

I really liked the story line. It was well thought out, and maneuvering through the different areas was not bad at all. Swaping through to choose one of your weapons is an awkward pain in the ass. Especially if you are in the middle of an attack and run out of ammo with one of the guns. Push and hold the direction button, then push and hold the X button, continue to hold the X button while you switch back to the direction button to choose what you want, and all the while the game never pauses or even slows down. And if you let go of either to soon you have to start all over, and by that time your dead, so be prepared to die and respawn, A LOT. Also when you use your supplies to upgrade your melee weapon, its only good for one hit, then it goes back to just being a bat or 2x2 board which is only good to kill one more zombie. Its incredibly frustrating, and I just put the consol in sleep mode and come back to it later after im not so disgusted with it. It's to bad. If the weapon durability and swap outs had been better designed this would be an awesome game. As it sits I'd say it's mediocre at best. Had I known ahead of time what a pain in the ass swapping was going to be I'd definitely have passed on buying this game. I wish I could give this 2.5 stars, but am giving it a 3 just because I like the story. If having to start over 10, 20 or more times is your kind of thing, and awkward controls dont bother you than this would be a great game for you to try. Im going to keep playing it just because I want to see where the story go's, but its really not that much fun. Update. Everything I wrote above still go's. Except I'm not disappointed I bought it. Swapping out gets a little easier as you go along. And there are disappointing things about it. But overall I liked it, and it was fun to play. So I'm upping my rating to 4 stars. ... show more
