I’ve tried a handful of products from Starskin before, and I’ve always found the brand to be about those fun, pampering skincare experiences that feel a little more on the luxe side. These hand masks definitely fall into that category. At $45 for a pack of four, you’re looking at about $11.25 per treatment, which is definitely on the higher end for hand care. Each mask is this shiny gold foil glove that you slip your hands into, and you secure them with tabs around the wrists. I’ll be honest, the tabs are a bit finicky and the material can tear if you’re not gentle, so it’s worth taking your time when putting them on. Inside, they’re soaked in serum with some great nourishing ingredients. For example, shea butter is in there, which is always great for deep hydration, and Bulgarian rose oil, which adds a touch of softness and that light, spa-like vibe. Between the foil exterior and the serum, you really do get that occlusive, cocoon-like effect where all the moisture gets pushed into your skin. I usually save them for nighttime. That way, I can let the serum sink in without worrying about washing my hands right after. The formula does leave behind a little tackiness, but nothing too extreme. It’s more like a dewy layer that lingers for a bit. I find that works best for me while I’m winding down at night. For me, these are more of a treat than a staple. I deal with dry, cracked hands in the winter from constant hand washing and cooking, so every now and then it feels good to give my hands something extra. The masks do leave my skin feeling softer and more hydrated, though not to the point where I’d be spending $45 on them regularly. They’re fun, they feel indulgent, and I could definitely see them being perfect for a spa night at home with some friends and a glass of wine. But as a must-have? Probably not. These are decently moisturizing, but I had some issues with them. They’re really big on my small hands, but too small for my husband’s hands. They tore a little too easily at the seams. The texture of the serum is nice and not too thick, but it left my hands feeling a little tacky. I think these are alright, but not a great value for what you get. I’d never tried hand masks before and ordered these because I wanted to try something new. Wasn’t quite sure what I was ordering if it was four individual gloves or 4 pairs of gloves. It ended up being 4 pairs which was a pleasant surprise. My hands do look and feel so much softer. I just got back from a vacation where I spent a lot of time in the sun and also I am pretty hard on my hands. So being able to put these on and feel my hands look and feel like I am not constantly subjecting them to constant manual labor and long days of sun damage. You can especially see it in the knuckle area. The smell is not my thing but it is not strong and my sensitive skin didn’t react to the ingredients. Overall a good thing but the gloves aren’t very luxury feeling. There is a simple piece of tape to secure the gloves. It was hard to use and didn’t feel like it would hold. Then there is a line about this tape activating the heating function. At no point did these gloves feel anything but cold and slimy on my hands. I tried the STARSKIN VIP Gold Mask Hand with high hopes for a spa-like treatment, and while it delivered on hydration, it missed a few marks. The masks were generously moistened with serum—Shea Butter and Bulgarian Rose Oil gave a luxe feel—but I didn’t notice much of the promised warming effect. After 15 minutes, my hands were left damp and slightly tacky, though that faded within minutes after rubbing in the excess. These luxurious Starskin spa hand masks are a real treat for hard-working hands. They moisturize and soften the skin with a rose-scented serum. The serum is hydrating and smells heavenly. I like to use these when watching TV while I put on a face mask on for extra pampering. The masks come with sticky tabs that help to help the gloves stay on and keep the serum inside. I leave them on for about 15 to 20 minutes and let them do their thing. It’s best to do this at the end of the day before bed and after you wash your face so you can get all the benefits of leaving the serum on overnight.
