Description

When law enforcement, the courts, and the prison system fail, there is a fourth and final option. 1 New York Times bestselling author Jack Carr launches a new thriller series. Disillusioned by the government and institutions he dedicated his life to serving, former Navy SEAL and CIA ground branch operative Chris Walker is about to end his life when he receives a call that saves it. The wife of a teammate he lost in Afghanistan has now lost her son to the opioid crisis and needs Walker’s help. Thrust into a conspiracy that goes deeper than he ever imagined, Walker must go up against the system and the very Constitution he once swore an oath to support and defend in order to find justice for his friend’s widow. With ambitious FBI agent Jarrett Stanton on his tail, Walker—accompanied by his loyal Belgian Malinois and using his off-the-grid VW pop-up camper filled with a hidden cache of weapons—takes the law into his own hands, exposing corruption and issuing a long-forgotten brand of lethal outlaw justice. In the tradition of the great “stranger comes to town” Westerns of the past comes a modern interpretation of the mysterious vigilante gunslinger legend from “the hottest author on the thriller scene today” (The Real Book Spy). Get ready for a new kind of hero. Justice is coming. Read more

  • Excellent Read
Format: Kindle
Do not provide reviews routinely, probably only my second or third review after reading hundreds of Amazon digital novels. However, thoroughly enjoyed the characters, plot and writing in this book!! If you like military related, action-packed thrillers this is a MUST READ!!

  • Fantastic New Series
Format: Hardcover
Three of my favorite authors had book releases the same week, Jack Carr, Christian Cameron, and Steven Pressfield. I just finished The Fourth Option, what a ride. Like any new series a good part of the book is an introduction to the main characters, the first third. After that what a ride. Fantastic high-octane ending. This is class Jack Carr with great fights and detailed spec-ops trade craft. MP Woodward was a key part of the seamless process that brought Chris Walker and these characters to life. I look forward to the next Fourth Option adventure, hopefully in 2027. Highly recommend this book to fans of classic American action adventure fiction. Now I can get back to Christan Cameron’s and Mr. Pressfield’s new books. ... show more

  • A wonderful read to the last page!
Format: Hardcover
One of the best true adventure books I have read in a long. Carr does a super job making his major characters real. The greater New Orleans area is a perfect setting for the novel as it makes all the twists and turns in the book come alive. This is Carr at his very best!

  • Not as good as Terminal List series, but worth a read
Format: Kindle
Liked the characters, and story development; a bit slow in the middle, but ending was good….but really, seemed to me pretty much like the early Jack Reacher stories kinda theme, but characters, story lines, and twists with early Reacher books were much better…..always had a legit twist ending I couldn’t guess….I pretty much understood what was coming up in this book, no surprises I couldn’t see…..again, also kinda like the Steven Hunter “Swagger” novels…..but not as good…..loved them too…..Will give next in series, if there is, one more try. ... show more

  • Another Great & entertaining book
Format: Audiobook
True to form Jack Carr , good character development , bad guys , good guys with friends , the usual nod to the SEALs since Jack was a Team Commander and plenty of twists & turns with gratuitous violence!

  • Must read, you will not want to put this one down.
Format: Kindle
This book is typical Jack Carr quality, well written and well worth the purchase. I am beginning to believe Mr Carr has a special beef with big pharma based on the plot of this book and The Terminal List but I will not spoil the plot.

  • Great intro to an extremely promising series
Format: Kindle
I don't care. I'm a massive Jack Carr fan and his books, recommendations, podcasts et al, have had a huge impact on my life. I have read dozens and dozens of books now as a result of his influence and suggestions. So, no, this is not an unbiased reviewer but my thoughts on The Fourth Option are objective. Jack manages to bring a fresh take, compelling plot, and thrilling story with this book. There is a reason why the stranger comes to town, flawed avenger, is such a well known style. Carr, however, manages to take the best parts of the past , merge it with contemporary issues, strengthen it with sound research, and produce a highly satisfying tale that will stay with you. I revisit his books multiple times because they are that good and this one is no different. My main criticism? More Paladin! Haha. Do yourself a favor and read this one. ... show more
