This was a requested gift and they loved it.

  • Love it but plastic bags don’t protect in shipping
Corners were all dinged up on this due to shipping in a bubble wrap mailer. I hate that Amazon does this. Not bad enough to return. Otherwise great product. Love all these movies and the price was so good I couldn’t pass it up.

  • Nice video quality, decent movies, too.
I like this series of movies. Especially the first one. Not just a horror movie, but a bit of lesson in morality, too. Most people have seen these things by now, so there's no point in going into any detail; but, they make for an enjoyable evening in front of the tube. I'm a bit surprised that more of these movies aren't being put out in 4K now that so many tv's support it. 1080-P is a step back, but when compared to 720-P it isn't, so we can all be glad of that. The picture looks good in these, nice colors, good detail. A good translation. For older folks like myself, older movies are a good break from what is being put out nowdays, as plots migrate more and more toward unrealistic action and adventure with acrobatics and cgi replacing actual acting. And, has anyone else noticed how difficult it is to pick out the voices in these new movies? In the past enunciation was stressed and demanded by directors, making dialog very intelligible in films. There is so much whispering now in movies along with too loud background music that it is very hard for an older fella to understand what is being said. No such problems in this collection of movies. ... show more

  • Pick this up and be afraid - very afraid
I was really looking forward to getting this boxset and wasnt disappointed after going through each of the movies. The quality is stunning and each movie has a decent amount of extras packed in, especially Cronenberg's adaptation. Included in this set are as follows: the original 1958 film, Return of the Fly, Curse of the Fly, the 1986 adaptation, and the Fly 2. Prior to obtaining this boxset the only film in this collection that I had seen was Cronenberg's version due to my great interest in his work and I enjoyed it. The 1958 film is charming in a 50's B-movie way and seeing Vincent Price is always welcome. According to the extras though, the real gem here is Curse of the Fly. For years this film sat in relative obscurity and was difficult to obtain for home viewing. Conceptually I'd rank it higher than Return of the Fly but sadly the execution wasn't very satisfying. Overall I'd highly recommend picking this set up to see a collection of some classic horror films. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Shout Factory Strikes Again!! Excellent Collection of Fly Franchise in Blu-ray
I previously owned the Ultimate Fly Collection Blu-ray which was a similar box set containing all 5 movies but The Return of the Fly and The Curse of the Fly didn't have subtitles. This box set is superior in every way. This is the supreme Fly Collection in Blu-ray. Shout Factory did a fantastic job. Whoever put this product together had a love and respect for the fans. Every movie has subtitles (and I love the yellow font color of the subtitle text - the best color in my opinion especially for black and white movies). There are tons of extras, including new feature commentaries. If you are a horror fan, this product definitely deserves a place in your collection. ... show more

  • "The Fly" Five-Film Collection Caught On Blu-ray By Scream Factory
Scream Factory releases all five "The Fly" films on Blu-ray in one definitive collection, looking their best in HD and each film coming in its own individual case, inside a sturdy, well-designed box. All previous extras from the first three films are ported over from the previous DVD box release from 2007,(minus the booklet). New audio commentaries are now included, three on "Return Of The Fly" alone! I only had "The Fly" (1986) and "The Fly II" (1989) on a double-sided DVD from 2000, which is blown away by the plethora of extras here that will take hours to get through. Fly fans can not go wrong purchasing this set, which is well worth the money. Vincent Price, David Hedison, Brett Halsey, Brian Donlevy, Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis, Eric Stoltz, and Daphne Zuniga are among the stars. Curious though how there is no mention on the possibility of a "The Fly III" by anyone... ... show more

  • No Audio
So I bought this box set and there is no audio on Cronenberg's The Fly and halfway through The Fly II, the disc just stops. It really sucks because I have been looking for The Fly II EVERYWHERE and I was super excited to find a box set of the movies and they don't work! Update: Turns out it was my BluRay player that was messed up. Now that I tried a newer model, it works perfectly! I apologize for "complaining" and it was totally worth the money! I'm super happy! ... show more
