  • Just as expected
Game came safely wrapped. What I loved about it the most, it was a Christmas gift for my son and there was no price sticker to remove . We all know some of them can be a hassle. The game it's self well, that's depends on your level of gaming my son completed the game with in one day. He didn't play it none stop but I would say maybe 5 hours or 8 hours with breaks . ... show more

  • Best Dark Pictures game yet
I absolutely loved Until Dawn, so I've played every one of the Dark Pictures Anthology games, and I think this most recent entry is easily the strongest in the series so far. All of the characters are well crafted & acted, and they see notable growth over the course of the game in a way that makes you really want to save them all (or at least, they did in the game I played given the choices I made). The horror elements felt fresh and unique- I really enjoyed the basis in Sumerian mythology, which I knew nothing about before I played this game. Just like the previous entries in the series, characters will live or die based on both the choices you make and your ability to nail QTEs, so if you enjoy that style of game (which I do), this game continues to nail that particular formula. Finally, without spoiling anything, I found the ending of this game to be more satisfying than the previous 2 Dark Pictures games. (I still really enjoyed playing those games, but I did feel that their conclusions were weaker than the rest of the game, whereas the ending of House of Ashes felt like it delivered much more strongly on the suspense and mystery that it developed over the course of the game.) ... show more

  • Decision based film game
The reason I rated four star instead five is because graphically even though it's clear, sometimes the human animations are a little bit stiffed or bland looking for a PlayStation five game. I understand that it's the very first of the series in the next Gen system so I'm not trying to be overly critical. The reason I purchased this is because I was looking for a different type of games that had nothing to do with the shooter or sports. If you like game like Erica on the PlayStation 4 you'll like this one. It's basically a moving film / game the only real control is when you're moving around in between certain areas to get from point A to point B but generally don't expect a lot of action. it's like watching a film with some interaction here and there but 90% of the interaction is decision making and some real in real time in mid battle. For example if a battle is taking place you control the options of each character individually you have the opportunity to change the outcome of the story based off your decisions they also have a meter to show the friendship interaction between people or if you trusts them which also builds on the story. The game has various outcomes based off your decisions so it does have high replay value the only thing is chapter select overrides everything. So if you decide to change your selection on stage three , everything from stage 3 and up is completely deleted and you have to replay and there's about 22 chapters I believe. Everything requires split second decision making based off difficulty level and you can have people pass away in the game without even making it to the end so you do have the option of saving some. The dialogue options and voice work constantly changed based off the mood of each characters, for example if you have a high friendship with one person they may respond more friendly etc I would recommend it if you're looking for a different type of game. ... show more

My daughter only plays certain games and these interactive choice type games are right up her alley. The multiple choices that you can make lead to multiple play throughs just increasing the overall value of the game. This game was creepy with the demons chasing you and turning your friends can’t wait for their next game ... show more

  • Fun and scary
I'm on my second Playthrough of this game and it's a lot of fun. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect and well I'm not a big fan of games were you simply have to react to the buttons on the screen it was a fun story line.
