Great movie!
Great movie night treat. Based in the South. Touch g and compelling. I really enjoyed it.

Consider how you FEEL about this movie v. the cold hard comments of a movie critic
A compelling mini-series spanning generations in less than 2 hrs. If we allow ourselves to embrace the author and director's passion and intent to deliver a heartfelt family saga in the antebellum south without accounting for the accuracy of every historic detail and technical cinematic perfection, this movie could be a rewarding experience that just might stir our emotions and continue to question differences among us that need continuing discussion to help us reach a meaningful understanding to achieve a compassionate outlook for a more harmonious future. ... show more

Great movie!
I just finished watching and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While the love story was predictable, I didn’t expect the movie to go into such detail about slavery. The slave owners got what they deserved. What goes around comes around, I won’t spoil the movie. Watch it and come away with your own interpretation. ... show more

Excellent movie!
We found this movie to be moving, sobering and eye opening. We must never forget our history lest we repeat it again.

Not so good
This move….I watched til the end. However, It made me very angry that men thought it was okay to own people, beat them, abuse their wife, kill their own children. Additionally, acting was less than stellar. And the music….made it over the top BAD.

The timeline is off...I'm confused...
The movie was really good, but the timeline was off. If the main character, the male lawyer, Mr. Magrath, parents died in 1863, how in the world is the setting in present day Georgia? It doesn't make sense. Somebody, please help it to make sense. Other than that, I knew it was a good movie when I was so engrossed in it that I began to scream commands to the characters! ... show more

A positive message of acceptance and future
This movie delivered a strong message of a tragic history and what many endure, forgiveness, our current state between anger-being the change - honor - learning about each other- love. The acting was not the greatest but towards the end the message is about not letting Hate continue to suppress us as a nation. ... show more

Enjoyed watching “The Crickets Dance”.
I enjoyed watching The Cricket Dance. I think people should form their own opinion. If I would have read the reviews before I watched I may not have bother with it. The movie was about past history. Slavery and love. Again watch and form your own opinion.
