My first impression was to return the book. I thought there would be a lot of nice pictures of coins. There are not. but I’m really glad I continued to read through the book. I found great descriptions of coins to look for and what different words associated with errors meant. For me that was very helpful . I’ve learned a great deal from the book. I’ve become familiar with the terms of coin collecting that were never clear to me before. Even though I may have heard them 1 million times it still didn’t quite sink in. But using this book, I’ve been able to identify coins and the errors and I’ve made some progress in my coin collecting. I have to say that the descriptions are very, very good and make the book totally worth keeping. Don’t expect great pictures but great descriptions oh my goodness so much clearer than it’s ever been for me.. The pictures aren’t horrible. They’re just not the main focus of the book.. there are codes that the book I actually haven’t used one yet, but they take you to extra information on coin collecting and coin identifying. ... show more

Very good history of the minting process. Not what I was looking for initially but it is interesting reading and gives examples of errors by type. I will definitely hang on to it! Oh, the bonus QR codes are pretty good too!

This very clear in the writing explaining the coins with the with the errors would look like showing the pictures. Helpful hints on how to word things if you're looking to sell it. I'm really impressed with the extra bonuses that they give you throughout the book you know they just they give you a lot of different bonuses to help you succeed in in whether you're doing it collecting it for fun or business I have quite a few coin books but I have to say this one is probably my favorite one and the best one So I thank you for taking the time and putting all this together in a book for people like me. ... show more

If you are new to coins or collecting, this has some great info for you. If you’re a collector or club president, or online moderator, or dealer . Contrary to your confidence, and believing you’re an expert, you can learn something new , maybe terms and types of errors that will bring your senses and observations to that level of expertise. An expert STOPs being an expert the moment you think you are an expert. Pawn shop people (owners, clerks, employees) can benefit from this information. Also benefitting the owners and customers with Archer’s information providing better services . I am a lifelong learner and when I believe am holding all the data, that is when such books are perfect fit . I appreciate the author sharing the info in a pleasant helpful manner, as collectors and shop owners can be secretive about this stuff. This coin error reference and educational book is a tremendous help to the beginning coin collector. It’s easy to read and keeps things very simple. If I were to suggest 1 thing, it would be to switch out the black/white coin photos illustrations for color. It would be much easier to assess the author’s discussion/example's. Of course, that would likely increase the price of the manual but, in my humble opinion, it would be well worth the education. This is an update on 4/7/26: I downgrade the review of this item. The book offers several bonus perks, basically great stuff to help you get organized if, you’re a beginner. There are barcodes at the end of most of the chapters. You scan them and it takes you to a website where they ask you to leave comments. I get that but, I provide them with all the requirements along with my email but, I never got a single bones perk. I scanned several of them and provided good reviews but absolutely nothing ever came. I purchased the book a few months ago. ... show more
