Description

A migrant fleet, a million strong, sets sail from Calcutta. Its destination: Europe. As the fleet advances, the continent is submerged under a torrent of words. Will the old nations of Europe resist the migrants or welcome them? Honor their past or embrace the radiant future? Open fire or open their hearts?Enthusiasm, delusion, cowardice. And, finally, panic. The migrants make landfall...First published in 1973, Jean Raspail's The Camp of the Saints ranks among the great dystopian novels of the twentieth century. Long out of print in translation, it is often hailed as prophesizing the mass migrations of our own day. The present edition contains an introduction by the scholar of French political thought Nathan Pinkoski, the 2011 preface that Raspail wrote by way of final testament for the book, and an original translation by Ethan Rundell. For the first time available in English after years of neglect, this edition will allow a new generation of readers to pose Raspail's questions for themselves and measure the distance we have come - or not come - since the book was first published more than fifty years ago. • REMARKABLE, PROPHETIC WORK!
Format: Kindle
May it Not come to Pass. God help Western Civilization, and God help us All. Thank you very much, Monsieur Raspail.

  • Must read.
Format: Paperback
A must read for all Western, free-thinking human beings. One way to save the West is to read and send this book out to as many people as possible.

  • Must read and have in any home library.
Format: Paperback
Incredible book, must read to understand the current scenario of Europe (and the West). What is also incredible is Amazon’s lack of transparency in explaining why they banned this edition on 4/20/26. They reversed of course (if you are reading this you know), but nothing is stopping them from reversing this decision and doing again. Let’s hope that their more tyrannical employees don’t prevail, booking banning has no place in America (anywhere really). Anyways, buy this book (more than one copy) to prevent it’s disappearance again. ... show more

  • What's your answer when you can't avoid the question?
Format: Paperback
Extremely timely and forces the reader to answer questions that he would otherwise avoid, even though the problem persists. Gritty, visceral, and real. I will probably get another copy that I can mark up and refer back to.

  • Western social, political, and cultural critique that has maintained prescience for over 50 years
Format: Paperback
Forget the details of the story - the most amazing thing about this book is the social and political critique of western civilization that shines through in amazingly prescient ways for a book that is over 50 years old. Knowing what we know now of the events and policies of the last 50 years, and looking at our current political climate and rhetoric, whether you agree with the author or not, you cannot deny that he was a genius with a cutting understanding of both sides of the argument that has stood the test of time. This is rarified air similar to the great dystopian literature of Orwell, Bradbury, and Huxley. ... show more

  • A must read---EXCELLENT BOOK! But took forever to get it!
Format: Paperback
***The book is FANTASTIC, and so right on with everything happening!!! The only reason I knocked a star off, is because it took over a month to get, and I kept getting messages from Amazon asking if I was sure I wanted to get the book--I found that very irritating--I wouldn't have purchased the book if I didn't want it. Almost as if someone was trying to change my mind and not get it. ... show more

  • Good book
Format: Paperback
Best book ever written. Have know idea why they banned it. Must read for every US Citizen

  • A satire like "1984". Just not as funny. Gripping read and stunningly possible.
Format: Paperback
Important and timely. And a page-turner. A satire in the same way that 1984 is a satire, ie. not funny. Your "anti-racist" warrior friends will gasp that you even opened a page. But all of them resolutely will deny the crisis of modern European multi-culture and the like-minded drones in American universities . The weenies. Michel Houellebecq's "Submission" is a gentler style and better written, but his critique just a more polite damnation of multi-cultural smugness and cultural guilt. ... show more
