Lots of great information in this book. Purchased for my son as I am introducing him to backpacking and this has all he should need to know to stay safe and have fun. Was a great refresher for me as I haven’t backpacked in over a decade. Information is organized in a way that makes this a good book to reference or to read from cover to cover. I've been camping and hiking since I was in the Boy Scouts growing up. Great book, has a lot of the things I learned in the scouts and some new things I didn't know too. This is the best camping/backpacking book I've ever seen that seems to cover almost everything. Useful as a resource for the infrequent camper who loves to hike and camp but has far less time than he/she would prefer! This book is a great reference to take along as well, especially because of its compact size and the advice it has about medical emergencies and plant life. I would suggest anyone who wants to camp but doesn't have their own Bear Grylls along for the ride should buy this book. ... show more
