  • The ONLY BOOK you need
Excellent book--the only one you need. It's not dated (like many of the other ones), and it's uplifting in creating solutions and positive shifts to the work that's ahead, so rather than it seeming burdensome, it's ahead with ease. Great information, tips. I hope they continue to update it. Screenwriters will benefit from this--as will producers, directors, students, needing to create a solid plan and portfolio. Will be using this in an upcoming class. ... show more

  • Worth the money for funding an Indie Film
I brought this book and it was worth the money. I have read and re-read this book. I highlighted sections and passages. This book is a must read for anyone who needs help funding for their movie. It breaks down the process and gives you practical examples. I love it !!

  • Very helpful
Once I got through the first few pages of what seemed to be more of a self-help book than anything else, I was really pleased with the content of the book and how it was written. Very helpful!

  • If you're looking to finance your indie project. this is a must read to know the next steps!
I love this book, it's super detailed and helping me understand how to get my project funded. Like most indie filmmakers, it a passion and privilege to create a story on film to help our POV get out there on the screen. I highly recommend this book, to help you understand how to get the funds for the next indie project you create. ... show more

  • Film Funding made Easy.
I really really liked this book, I am looking for the in,s and out,s of film funding. I just finished my film Pay Attention, success leaves clues. Kinda like the secret without the million dollar budget. The grants and connections in the back of the book are worth their weight in gold. The book is a must read for any film maker that is creating the budget for their film. Herb Palmer jr producer The Pay Attention film ... show more

Carole Lee Dean has created a book that is a reference guide for creating the perfect pitch, inspiring you to present you and your materials appropriately, finding and connecting with funding organizations including crowdfunding, and making a successful "ask" which lands you the money to make your film. • The PERFECT Filmmaking and Fundraising Book.
Carole is our fiscal sponsor from From the Heart Productions. The book that she wrote was beyond helpful for an indie crew scrambling the funding process for a documentary on our own. What a wonderful person and a wonderful book. I would recommend this to everyone. Professors, I wish this was a textbook when I was in film school. ... show more

  • Standard Faire
I don't think any of the information in this book would surprise anyone unless perhaps you are really, really early in your career otherwise it's standard faire but nothing particularly new or earth shattering. There is a new edition however. Perhaps it may spark something in you. But that's a big IF. Take it out of the library first and if you really like/love it, then buy it. If you've read any other books on the subject then this is pretty much "standard faire". ... show more
