  • Great paint, but temperamental.
Color: Holy White
I bought this for painting white fur on some artic themed minis, and it works fantastically for that. But there are a few things you need to understand. 1; squeeze out the first couple drops, and toss it. That's standard with Army Painter; it's just some medium used to keep the paint from drying out in storage. 2; you absolutely have to make sure this is properly mixed up. It's very finicky and tends to separate if you let it sit for even an hour. Even while on your pallet. I suggest squeezing out a few drops into a paint tray and giving it a good stir with a clean toothpick. If it's not a pale grey color then its not mixed properly. If its dark, then you have a try full of pigment and basically no medium. 3; paint this over white. Not grey, and certainly not black. I know mini painters love our Zenithal Prime, but this paint wasn't meant for that. This goes over white. No ifs, ands, or buts. It's basically a glorified wash that leaves the raised details unpainted, so if those details aren't white to begin with, they won't be white afterward. There is NO white pigment here; it's a pale grey wash. Use it appropriately. This is meant to add a subtle shading effect to something ALREADY painted white, not to paint something white. ... show more

  • This is great paint
Color: Blood Red
I build 1/35 scale models of US troops and this does the job. I will recommend this to anyone looking for a great paint.

  • This is a contrast paint
Color: Grim Black
This is a contrast paint (what GW or Citadel) that has different properties than the Matt black paint. Good paint, but practice with it first There are videos on YouTube on how to use these type paints

  • Great paints
Color: Fire Giant Orange

  • Good but not perfect
Color: Grim Black
Covers well but itโ€™s thin and doesnโ€™t cover evenly. A second coat will need to by applied.

  • Not that impressed with this color:
Color: Fire Giant Orange
I previously purchased some of the Army Painter speed paints and have had some success. I have mixed feelings about the paints because of the reactivation and limits set by this issue such as the inability to glaze. But I wanted to try this orange to create a fire effect on one of my miniatures. I was hoping this would be one of those colors from the line that worked well. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a dud. The color appear far more red on the spectrum. I eventually had to include a non speed paint yellow as a glaze, which got a little tricky because of the reactivation properties. It came out ok, but for the amount of work, I wish I had just done some glazing or layering with normal paints instead. ... show more

  • Good paint
Color: Sand Golem
Wasn't sure what to expect but it was perfect for painting wood tones in my minis
