Very detailed

  • must buy
As someone who has struggled with anxiety pretty much all of my life this book has been a lifesaver. The last two years my anxiety had gotten so bad I felt like I was having a breakdown. I would be crying all the time, extremly nauseous and it gotten so bad that leaving home was a stuggle. With what I've learned in this book it has helped me to take better control of my anxiety and do things I couldn't do before. If you are struggling with anxiety then I would defiantly recommend this book ... show more

  • Great resource about anxiety
For some reason, I've always supported therapy for others but couldn't see it as an option for myself. But when I saw this book on sale on BookBub, I thought "why not?" I'm glad I picked it up! There's a lot of great information in here about identifying and living with your anxiety. Also, the author asks you to think deeply about your anxiety (what thoughts trigger it, how it manifests physically, etc), which is painful but helpful. I agree with reviews on here that say that the Kindle version is hard to use, but I'm giving this four stars because it is approachable and it really helped me work against the cycles of anxiety that I've been living in for a while. I recommend this book for people who have anxiety but don't know where to start in terms of getting help. The resources in the back also include more anti-anxiety titles and links for finding a CBT therapist. Great information all around! ... show more

  • Therapy in a Book
I'd been having trouble. It was at times excruciating. Worry worry worry. I also had a panic attack on an airplane. That was tough. I called a couple of therapists which took a lot of effort. One never called me back. The other called back and said they were booked. I needed help. I got this book hoping it would provide some relief until I found a therapist. Now I won't be needing a therapist. This book explains that there are various types of disorders or problems whatever you want to call it that are defined as anxiety, and each individual needs to be treated individually. A good chunk of this book walks you through a process to help you identify what your problems are. From there it goes deep into your soul giving you exercises to help you identify the root(s) that are causing these problems. And then it helps you work through the root causes. It also provides some tools that you can use to address anxiety and panic attacks on the go. This book helped me. I've had some episodes since, and I've used the tools in this book to address them. What could have been a month or more of anxiety was avoided. I would not recommend that you do what I did. If you have an anxiety problem or panic attacks, then see a therapist. But if you must use this book, then I recommend that you be totally committed to it. Do what it says, and don't skimp on the home work. ... show more

  • Great if you can do the Book!
Book was ok. When one has anxiety this book is difficult to read and apply oneself to accomplish the tasks.

  • So helpful!
This is an amazing workbook! Of course, it’s not a cure all, but it’s an incredibly insightful guide to managing and becoming more aware of anxiety! It makes me feel so much better to have something that I can come back to when I feel the anxiety coming on. I’ve learned to be mindful of and lean into my anxiety and not try to shut it out. I would say that it isn’t necessarily an emergency solution, but it’s great for long-term anxiety management. ... show more
