  • Learning AI without technical overwhelm
Format: Kindle
This felt genuinely beginner friendly without talking down, which I really appreciated. The explanations focus on how AI fits into everyday life and work instead of drowning you in jargon or theory. I liked that it stays practical, showing how tools can actually be used rather than just described. The no coding approach makes it feel accessible even if you have always avoided anything technical. Overall, it reads like a calm introduction that builds confidence instead of intimidation. ... show more

  • Concise, Practical, and Truly Beginner-Friendly AI Guide
Format: Kindle
Out of all the AI books I’ve read, this book stands out as one of the most concise and genuinely actionable. It’s a great starting point for beginners who want to understand how AI can actually be used in everyday life rather than just talked about in theory. I appreciated how it shows how ordinary people can use AI to simplify tasks, boost productivity, and think differently about work. The book explores AI across many areas (education, art, medicine, business, and more) which gives you a broad and balanced perspective. My favorite part was the “try it yourself” exercises, because they encourage real hands-on learning instead of passive reading. AI is clearly reshaping how we live and work, and this book helps you feel more prepared and confident to work alongside it. ... show more

  • Finally, an AI Guide That Actually Works for Beginners
Format: Kindle
As someone who's been curious about AI but intimidated by complex tech books, The AI Workshop was a breath of fresh air. Milo Foster has created something special here - a guide that doesn't just explain artificial intelligence, but actually gets you using it from day one. What makes this book stand out: No tech background needed - The author uses clear, conversational language that makes even complex concepts easy to grasp. No confusing jargon or abstract theories here! Hands-on from the start - I loved the "Try It Yourself" sections in each chapter. Within the first hour of reading, I was already automating email responses and experimenting with AI tools I didn't even know existed in apps I use daily. Real-world focus - The book doesn't just talk about AI in theory. It shows exactly how to apply it to writing, productivity, business tasks, and creative projects. The prompt library alone is worth the price of admission. Ethics done right - Many AI books gloss over the important questions about privacy and responsible use. This one tackles them head-on with practical advice. ... show more

  • Easy guide to understanding AI
Format: Kindle
I wasn’t sure if this book would be too technical, but it was actually very easy to follow. It explains AI in a way anyone can understand and shows how it can help with everyday things like saving time and getting more creative. I liked that it had real examples and simple exercises so you can try things out right away. It also talks about being careful with AI and thinking about the risks, which I think is important. The tips on privacy and ethics were really useful, and the extra tools like the prompt list were a nice touch. Even if you’ve never used AI before, this book makes it feel approachable and not scary at all. I think it’s a great starting point for anyone who’s curious about how AI can make life easier. ... show more

  • Great AI History Lesson, But Misses the Mark for 2026
Format: Kindle
Writing a book on AI is a challenging task because AI is a moving target that seems to be changing daily. AI capability is experiencing exponential growth before the ink is dry on a published book. The author is experienced with information technology and has an interest in technology adoption. His goal is to translate technology into common terms, and the book is positioned as a practical guide to the AI landscape. Each chapter has a “try it yourself” section, and this supports the book being hands-on rather than theoretical. Milo did his research and added the extensive sources at the end of the book. He also talked to clients to add additional input to the book. However, the book description said the book was updated for 2026. I felt the book was dated and did not reflect AI in 2026. The first third was listing the history, which is ancient history by 2026 standards. It has become “nice to know” rather than “need to know.” Many of the exercises were aligned with legacy programs that are rarely used today. ChatGPT and Google Gemini were discussed but not at the 2026 level. If you want a good AI history book for almost every topic imaginable, then you’ll enjoy the book. But it’s not a modern guide. I do credit the author for his extensive research and taking the time to write a thorough history on AI’s beginnings. ... show more

  • An Actual AI Workshop!
Format: Kindle
I am a working senior whose job consists of a lot of writing and analysis. My son has gently pushed me in the direction of using AI to make my life easier. I have dipped my toe in, but really wanted more direction – which is why I purchased this book. It is exactly as it is cracked up to be. It is an effective and well laid out guide to how to use ai My job requires extensive writing and analytical work. As a senior, I’ve been slow to embrace AI; however, my son has gently pushed me in that direction. I’ve dipped my toe in, but realized I needed more structured guidance, which led me to this book. It absolutely lives up to its promises. It provides a clear, practical roadmap through which people in a variety of careers and businesses can effectively incorporate AI tools into their daily work. The well-organized approach makes what could otherwise be intimidating technology useful and readily available. Numerous links are provided throughout the book. In addition, there is a link, at the end of the book, to a free bonus book of AI prompts, along with “a simple framework for writing your own prompts.” I found this book instructive and will use what I’ve learned, both in my job and in other aspects of my life. ... show more

  • Excellent beginner-friendly guide with practical hands-on approach
Format: Kindle
This book does a fantastic job breaking down AI concepts for complete beginners without getting bogged down in technical jargon. The step-by-step approach makes it easy to follow along, and the real-world examples help clarify how AI can actually be useful in daily life. The "Try It Yourself" activities are particularly valuable for building confidence with different AI tools. What stands out most is how practical everything is - from using ChatGPT effectively to automating simple tasks in Gmail. The sections on ethics and privacy are thoughtful additions that many beginner guides skip. The companion resources like the prompt library and mini-course add real value beyond just the book content. Some of the examples feel a bit repetitive across different chapters, covering similar ground in slightly different contexts. That said, the overall structure is solid and the writing style makes complex topics feel accessible and manageable for anyone wanting to get started with AI. ... show more

  • Makes AI Feel Doable
Format: Kindle
I’ve read a few “intro to AI” books, but this one is the first that actually made me feel like I could start using AI right away. The writing is clear and friendly, and the examples are things I could actually see myself doing, such as streamlining email, brainstorming creative ideas or automating repetitive tasks. The “Try It Yourself” sections are short and surprisingly effective at building confidence. What I liked most is that it doesn’t assume you want to become a tech expert—it’s more about fitting AI into everyday life. The tips on ethics and privacy were a nice touch, and the prompt library is something I’ve already started using. If you’re curious about AI but not sure where to start, this book is an approachable first step. ... show more
