A lot of the text of the book is not as informative about the software as I would like. It is "fill" as I would call it. Still, I think there was enough information to learn to use "Alexa" software.

I love the "Dummies" books. They are usually well written with tons of information packed in them. So I was concerned when this one wasn't rated highly in the ratings. I think the reason why is that it is brand new. The copyright date is 2019. This one is just as well written and filled with information as the other books in the series. I've only had my Echo device for a week, and figured out some of what is in the book, but was pleasantly surprised to learn other, totally new stuff. This would be a great idea to buy along with a new Alexa device. It would also be great for someone who is thinking about purchasing and doesn't know which device would be best, as the author devotes an entire chapter on the comparison of different devices. I've read other books on working with Alexa, and this is the best so far, IMHO! ... show more

    • A must for all Echo Fans
I am pretty tech savvy and thought I knew everything Alexa was capable of, but this book does teach you some things you might never have thought of. It may not all be necessary knowledge, some of it is just for fun, but if you’re like me and like to get everything possible out of your gadgets, then I would highly recommend reading this. It’s a pretty easy read, I knocked it out at a chapter a day over a couple of weeks, and I’ll probably read it again in the near future to make sure I didn’t miss anything! ... show more

I haven’t actually reviewed the book, yet, as I just received the package. However, the corner and spine are all bent up. I won’t return it, because it won’t affect the use of the book. But, disappointed in the look.

Alexa setup for complex configurations can be very confusing; I have read most user guides that are available; this one is not perfect; but, it is the best and most helpful that I have found.
