Description

Ever dreamed of having a vending machine in your room? With this engineering kit, you can build and experiment with your own toy vending machine. First, follow the step-by-step instructions to assemble the machine. Then test and configure it to get it working perfectly. Load your vending machine with all kinds of small candies or prizes and you’re in business! Insert some coins and have fun watching them get sorted, perform stunts as they slide down the tracks, dispense prizes, and finally end up in the coin bank in the base of the machine. This awesome vending machine has four main interactive segments: First, you insert coins (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies) into the slot at the top and turn a knob to sort the coins. Then, the coins fall into an interactive coin track area where they slide down ramps, make jumps, and ring bells. Next, the coins fall into a device that allows you to make your “purchase” with the push of a button. Finally, your prize pops out of the machine, and the coin falls into the bank, sorted into neat stacks by denomination. The vending machine can sit on a tabletop or hang on a wall. A small key allows you to access the vending machine compartments for refilling the prizes.Explore lessons in physics, math, and mechanical engineering as you build and play with the vending machine. Learn about gears and other simple machines, gravity, forces, motion, and collisions. Try some simple math lessons related to the coins and money.

  • Cool item, definitely for a kid 8+
Went ahead and bought this for our 6yo and she loved the whole concept but needed help building it and getting it to function (and she’s pretty mechanically minded). The candy it came with was GROSS! So definitely have something else ready. The coins would get stuck in the collection area. Hard to store once it’s together bc to put it in the box again you’ve gotta take most of it apart and it’s not something that we use everyday and wanna keep out more then a few days at a time. But I gotta say, when other kids come over it’s always a hit! I think for a kiddo over 8 it would be a really great gift. ... show more

  • Quick assembly and very FUN!
My kids (mostly my 8 and 10 year olds) excitedly put this together with only gentle guidance from me. It was fascinating to see it all come together, and then to discover how it worked once it was finished. I pulled out a bag of coins and they gathered Lego minifigures, Polly Pocket mini dolls, candy, and assorted other items, and then played with it for literally HOURS. Next day, they did it again. And then again the day after that. They’re in love with this thing! ... show more

  • Kids favorite
This product is super easy to put together. No tools required, just snap parts together by hands. The mechanics are so simple, there’s really no reason for it not to work except if you have a missing or broken parts situation. However, it does require that the instructions be followed carefully because some details are easy to be missed by a child, e.g., the orientation of certain parts. The finished product instantly became a hit with my 5 and 9 year old boys. They picked out all the smaller candies they got from the last Halloween, as well as coins from their piggy bank, and played with this candy vending machine nonstop. They plan on charging their friends for candies when they come for play dates and expect that they will gladly pay for them because of the fun of it. The boys also excitedly talked about where to source exotic candies to make their friends more motivated to pay, say, a trip to the Japanese store. Alternatively I think we can also turn it into a mini toys vending machine which is an added fun. On a final note, our kids are not looking to make money - their friends usually just come by anytime and rummage through our house for snacks. It’s really just for the fun of having a “vending machine”. ... show more

  • Waste of Money
I thought this would be so cool for my sons for Christmas & it was a nightmare from the second I opened the box. It is cheap & flimsy I think personally for the price tag & the directions are not super clear. You have to really really pay attention to the pictures or you’ll put a piece on backwards, etc. Once I got it together, it was a hit with my kids but that quickly came to an end when it kept falling apart & pieces were getting jammed, etc. This was something I wanted to hang on the wall as an incentive for my kids for behaving & doing things to help around the house, etc. Needless to say, it never even got the chance to be hung on the wall because pieces were already breaking. A lot of these reviews are crazy to me because this was a hunk of almost $40 junk in my eyes, but I guess it worked out for some people. & some of the pieces included to make different ways for the coins to go were just annoying & went straight in the trash (such as the little bell looking things, they aren’t bells at all.. they make the coin stop & it falls out of the machine completely wherever & rolls under things) This is taken apart & in the top of the junk closet just waiting for the trash which is unfortunate for almost $40 to be completely wasted. The candy included also tasted horrible & was an extremely weird texture that left a weird “film” on your fingers just from touching it. I would just save your money & put it towards a STEM activity that actually works, stays together, doesn’t break so easily, & is worth the money. ... show more

  • Great fun, better than other TK kits
This is pretty good for a fully plastic kit that snaps together. It was fun to build and play with.

  • So fun
Was great but candy melted

  • Wouldn't purchase again
I expected better things from this. It is easy to assemble, but the excitement of setting it up is lost immediately. The pieces don't work just anywhere on the face, and there aren't too many options to switch it up.

  • Flimsy and problematic
Item was average. My 10 year old son was excited to play with it but incurred several issues with the candy being dispensed and coins going into the correct slots. A little pricey for the quality.
