Photo 1: shower door touch up after painting over polished aluminum. A fair amount of that door had to be touched up and you cannot even tell where the paint chipped and where the marker patched it up. And that’s on flat black - totally different from the gloss finish this pen has. Shows the versatility of it. Photo 2: Rubber door gasket/weather strip that had splattered white paint on it from a previous paint job. Took it out in no time and looks better than new. I’ve never used something like this before so I was skeptical. Fortunately, these proved to be well worth the money. They do not dry out and last a really long time - I am still on the first one after 3 projects and numerous touch ups. The color dries with a bit of a gloss, but if you are looking to blend it into a flatter finish, you can use a rag or paper towel to rub it over. Just be careful with a paper towel since a lower quality one might shed little paper bits onto the finish. It is really easy to use, just a quick shake and it’s like using a sharpie from there on. It also covers better than a sharpie does, I had some white paint splatter on the black gasket underneath the main entrance door. This covered it in just one pass, and the gloss finish really made the whole thing pop. That’s just one of many different things I have used this for. I would highly recommend just having this in the house for when you need it. Other brands I have tried with other colors, and I have had issues. I have had pens leak on me before, and you realize after stepping back that you have been shaking paint all over the place. Not fun. We recently had a custom bookcase with cabinets installed in our bedroom. The shelves were made with a white melamine product that had curved edges that made the shelf seams disappear. However, the counter top was covered in Formica and the dark seams stood out like a sore thumb. I complained to the cabinet designer and she said that’s just how it looks in Formica because Formica is not the same color throughout like melamine is, so the edges look dark. They couldn’t make the countertop out of melamine because of the thickness of it - it’s two inches thick verses 3/4 inch on the shelves, so they used matching Formica. My husband and I were very upset and so I looked for a product that I could use to “paint” the edges. The white permanent oil based paint marker pen seemed to fit the bill - and it does. I taped the Formica and ran the marker on the seams and they disappeared. We are so happy with this product. It really works and doesn’t rub off. ... show more
