  • Worked for my situation
Size: 2 Traps Style: Fruit Fly Trap
I have intermittent issues with fruit flies, though never what I would call a huge amount at one time. Finding the right spot to place the traps involves some trial and error, but once I've got it, the fruit flies dive right in. So, for my specific needs, this works well. Also, when I bought this, it was part of deal with some other items that I needed, so that made this already cheap item even cheaper. That said, know that what you're really buying here are the plastic containers. There's nothing magical about the liquid; it's just water with some vinegar and a touch of sodium laurel sulfate. A web search will likely return hits for mixtures you can make with stuff you probably already have at home. I'm glad to have the little plastic containers because I don't have anything else in my small apartment that would work as well for the spaces where I want to use them, and I don't mind mixing up my own liquid for the bait. If you're not sure if this will work for you, you might try experimenting with some of the bait recipes you find online before ordering these traps. ... show more

  • Smells awful but works great!
Size: 2 Traps Style: Fruit Fly Trap
The liquid that goes inside of the trap is putrid! As long as you don’t do what I did and spill it all over, you should be fine. You don’t really smell it once you have filled it and set the trap in its designated location (unless your holding it to your face huffing it, I don’t know why anyone would do that but - think of the world we live in today. Someone out there would definitely do that) we had all these fruit flies show up at once and these traps took care of almost all of them within a week. There were a few lone rangers that managed to resist the stench, but we have refilled and they should be gone soon also. You just fill the trap, sit it aside and that’s it. Easy peasy. I would use these again if those pesky fruit flies come back. I don’t know why this review asked me to star rate the adhesion… there is no adhesion on the product. Just ignore that part if you see it in my star ratings. ... show more

  • Get These AND Sticky Pads
Size: 2 Traps Style: Fruit Fly Trap
There are a number of different varieties of tiny flies & gnats that infest kitchens & are attracted to fruit. Some are attracted to these traps. Others will flock to the scent but get caught on sticky pads better. This is why some reviews say they work & others don't. For best results get both traps & sticky pads, whether you buy separately or in a set. That will give you success with all "fruit flies". I had large number of tiny but very intrusive fruit flies before I finally ordered these traps plus a set of sticky pads. I used both together. For my situation, these traps only got a few flies each but they were instrumental in drawing the flies to the area to get stuck on the sticky pads (bought separately). It just depends on which variety of flies you have, but using both traps & pads will work for all types. My infestation was gone in about a week. ... show more

  • Works decent for what it's worth
Size: 2 Traps Style: Fruit Fly Trap
These fruit fly traps work decently for what it's worth, I usually bait them with a bit of red wine or apple juice and change it out every few days to prevent molding. Catch rate will vary depending on whatever liquid you've got in there and how many fruit flies there are, but all in all these really help in clearing out swarm especially if you've cleared up any other sources of food that they might have been nesting on such as bits of food remaining within the garbage disposal unit. To clean the unit just add a splash of water and then dump out the flies that were in the trap into the toilet, afterwards run it underneath some hot water with maybe a drop of dish soap and rinse it out for a few seconds, afterwards it should be right as rain to be baited again with some more wine or juice. ... show more

  • Fruit flies and fungus gnats and drain flies and...
Size: 2 Traps Style: Fruit Fly Trap
First of all - fruit flies/fungus gnats/drain flies are my arch nemesis. My neighbors have heard fighting next door but it was just me yelling at these tiny bugs. I give this product five stars because it kills more flies proportionately to its price. It will make a noticeable dent in the fly invasion, but it will still leave enough of them alive that you remember to keep buying more of these. And you will need to buy more. If you are reading this review AND you have fruit flies crashing into your face because they like the light from your phone, go ahead and get these BUT order like 3 packs. You will go through the liquid faster than you think. No, don't plan to refill with your own apple cider vinegar/soap combo later... it won't be nearly as effective and you'll be back here ordering more anyway. Good luck in your battles! ... show more
