I bought this pump in anticipation of having to empty a 55 gallon drum of water. I did not need iit immediately, so i left it in the box until I needed it. What a disaster. This pump came with no instructions. It only turns backwards. Thus it will not pump.

used pump 2 times and then it quick pumping and its 2 days past the return what a joke do not buy this garbage

    • Must be primed, works fine otherwise.
Works fine to pump gasoline, but it has to be primed every time. When I’m finished pumping I fill a small container and leave it by the pump to prime next time.

    • The pump did not work.
I purchased your pump for a 55-gallon drum of gas. After my first attempt was unsuccessful (rotating the arm first one way, then the other), I examined it and took it apart for reassembly, making sure the threaded joints were tight. After sustained rotations of the pump arm (2+ min.) , no gas still. I tried to prime it, but this failed to draw gas (it's self-priming, anyway, right?). I visited a local fuel supplier who sold the large drum to me. They were uncertain why it would not pump the gas. So I tried to solve it before troubling you. Maybe it is just a poor seal on the rotary blades? Something is amiss. Can you help me? ... show more
