The TSRC Q5 drone was just amazing right out of the box. I am a beginner drone user and this item was just great and easy to use the first time out. It comes with a nice carrying case to protect the unit and stores everything you need to fly the drone, including the extra battery and parts that came with it. The drone was easy to set up the first time out and having a beginners mode made the first flight enjoyable without any disasters. It has a one key take off / landing that worked well. Taking off up to about 1.5 meters and holding there till you decide what you want to do. it hoovers there for as long as you like. One key landing lets it land itself at any time for perfect landings. Using the altitude assist was really nice. You let the drone set at any altitude and it just hangs there without any input from you. This gives you the ability to use the 4K camera to get pictures or video without worrying what the drone is doing. There are many other useful features on this unit. I have not used them all yet but the most important features for me were the take off / landing feature, altitude assist feature, high resolution 4K picture / video usage and the GPS auto return features. These all worked flawlessly. I tested the GPS return feature by activating the return button on the controller when the drone was far away from me. It directly lifted itself to a settable distance of 30 meters above the ground to miss all obstacles to fly back to where it took off. I did not have to do anything else. The unit slowly came back to me and made a perfect landing. It then shut itself off ready to go again. This unit is suppose to automatically return to you when it reaches a low battery, looses its signal from your phone or flies out of distance. The portion of the GPS return feature I tested was really reassuring that it would be difficult to loose the drone by it just flying off. I have attached some pictures of the first flight. The pictures were great and as good as your phone can produce. I was really pleased with this unit. The quality, features and pictures will provide endless fun for a very reasonable price. I do want to mention that the shipping was free and very fast. I ordered it from Amazon late in the evening and it was delivered at 5:27 am the next morning. I see where if you order it in the morning you can still get it the same day. It just doesn't get better than that! ... show more

So I ordered the TSRC Q5 drone. Wasn’t expecting it to be anything but a cheap knock off for the price tag of $160. It came 2 days earlier than expected. So that was a plus. When I got the drone, it seems pretty hefty for the price. I was delighted surprise with the drone itself. The drone looked and felt sturdy. I love the way the arms spring open. It’s a beautiful drone overall. For the remote, a little lacking. The remote looks and feels like a toy. Don’t like the way the buttons were, however for the price, need I say more. Image quality was really good. I was surprise by the quality as well. I was able to use the zoom. Not sure how I feel about the quality of the zoom. My initial flight was in pretty windy conditions. The drone had some issues with GPS hold due to the wind. Will take it out when it’s a little calm to test the intelligent flight modes. The drone responses quickly to the remote. I do like all the intelligent flight options. I have other drones that cost more and don’t have the options. For the price, the drone quality, camera quality, easy of use is worth the price. Would love to see a 3 axis gimbal version. Will add an update more pics and a video once I fly it in better conditions. ... show more

I have never flown a drone that costs more than $5 from the kids isle at the dollar store and know next to nothing about them, so I'm coming into this not really knowing what to expect. so far I've mostly flown it inside (it has an indoor mode) due to weather, but I found a good enough break to go outside for a flight. Here is what I've experienced so far. Ill add a quick summary at the bottom. opening the box/case: The box was in great condition with no damage, and the case that comes with it feels very high-quality. As soon as I opened the case to see what's in side, I was greeted with a very clean interior with a dense foam cutout for the drone, the controller, and the extra battery. The drone itself was smaller than I expected, but then again I've only ever see the cheap ones and the big professional ones. going through the setup process: The included instructions were very clear and nearly every step had pictures and explanations. there were also plenty of QR codes to see download the free app, and the app itself seems reliable and simple. I had to go through the setup process a few times due to mostly user error. but once I got the hang of it, it only take 30 seconds to 1 min to get it out and ready to fly. *personal tip: turn off any VPN you have on your phone, and disable Auto-reconnect on your local WIFI! Flying as a beginner: here is where the fun starts. once it was all setup and calibrated, I unlocked the motors and gently pushed up on the throttle. I was surprised at the speed it had risen, it went up maybe 4-5 feet FAST. I was expecting a slow and gradual rise as I slowly went up on the lever, but this thing woke up and chose VIOLENCE! As it went up it had also angled forward somehow without me touching the other lever, and turned into a aerial Roomba as I tried to get it under control. it eventually came to a "landing" after hitting the wall the final time. It took me a few times to get used to it and able to hover and slowly move up/Down/Left/Right. The wife and I agreed, we aren't flying this indoors anymore. The next day I was able to go outside since the weather had lightened up and was only breezy/windy. I was little nervous how it would handle it, but decided to go easy on it and get a feel for it first. went mostly well, but did loose control again eventually while flying it low. I felt more confident and decided to take it straight up as high as I could, which turned out to be 31 meters for me while in beginner mode. once I got up there, I found it easier to control and move around, it took a lot longer but I finally did start to lose control again and decided to come down. I came down till it was about 8 foot off the ground and I was having trouble controlling it smoothly. I decided to just let it hover for a moment and activate the auto landing. once activated, it took a couple seconds then started to move around close to where it took off but it stopped about 6 foot short and turned off the motors and dropped about 5 foot into the grass. so in summary: packaging: 10/10 clean, neat, organized. portability: 8/10 good carrying case, small drone itself, but takes time and some space to take off. setup procedure: 9/10 example videos provided, pictured instructions and explanations. some terminology made it slightly confusing. communication: 6/10 could be user error. kept randomly disconnecting from my phone and loosing satellite communication strength. the controller itself had flawless connection. did have about 0.5-1 second lag. quality: 8/10 clean minimal exterior, arms feel snappy when locking into place, nothing was broken or missing, camera quality seems ok so far, controller feels cheap with some of the buttons being wobbly/loose, phone mount is not good for XL or + phones or phones with big cases as it has a tendency to fall out if you angle the controller wrong. user interface: 8/10 pleasantly surprised with the app quality and it being bug free, on screen buttons do not block view at all and feel "out of the way", the controller-drone interface is nearly non existent beyond either a 1 beep or two beep sequence and red/green lights on the arms. durability: 9/10 only thing broken so far was just the propellers after crashing a few times, everything else still works like new, can get scratched easily but does not dent so far. in total, I say this is a good starter drone for the price/feature ratio if you want to take videos or pictures. I will be upgrading to a more premium drone eventually once I feel confident with them in general. If your on the fence about getting a drone, I HIGHLY recommend this if you catch it on sale. ... show more
