I own an audio company with all high end equipment. Compared to a Shure Sm58, B58 or KSM9 this mic is far superior in it's solid sound and stability when being used in a large speaker system. I'm going to make these a standard item in my stock.

As a sound engineer who obsesses in legendary microphones for recording with a collection including an original AKG C12, Neumann U67, Neumann U47, ELA-M 251, etc.., it's hard for me to get excited with stage mics. Setting aside mic pre amps, mixer, effect processors, speakers, etc., which matters in the chain to get that big warm silky sound, this mic absolutely delivers! The chrome simply inspires - but the mic, no matter what color, is deserving of my taking the time to review. Hear it for yourself. I'm blown away, actually!

This mic didn't work well with my voice. I had much better sound with the Audio Technica ae6100 mic. The Telefunken just had too much top end for me. Only way to use it would be with a de-esser and some eq. I think if you ran a de-esser on the mic and eq'd the top end you could get a good sound but, I wanted a mic that sounded good with my voice right out of the box.

I really like this mic but it is a little pricey. I purchased a AKG 7C condenser mic as well and I tend to use it more. However, I'm still playing with the M80 to realize it's full potential. You can't go wrong with a Telefunken!

I've used the M80 for both vocals and acoustic guitar and it is by far one of my favorite mics. One of the vocalists said after using it that that was the first time she'd ever gone home from a gig and didn't feel a little hoarse. I could tell from the mix position that the vocalists felt a lot more comfortable in front of them. The quality of the mic gave them that extra bit of confidence to sing exceptionally. For the acoustic guitar I tested a number of mics including the Audix OM6 and the Shure SM57 and this one beat both of those. It had great presence and a nice round bass response without being over-bearing at all.

Telefunken mic is excellent for karaoke. It picks your audio even when you’re one foot away from the mic. When you kiss the mic while singing it does not distort your voice. I am glad I opted for this mic. It is very expensive but it’s worth having. I bought another one.

After using a very faithful Sure Beta 87A for nine years, it suddenly crapped out on me and I needed to get a new mic. After shopping around and reading reviews, I thought I'd drop some dough and give the Telefunken M80 a try. Wow! After playing my first gig with it, the sound person asked what kind of mic I was using. It's very responsive and produces a wonderful reproduction of my voice. I give this microphone 5 stars. I hope this one lasts a long time.

Excellent mic. Beautiful sonic response and build quality is top notch. You’d have to spend twice the money to get a better live mic... such as the Neumann KMS 105 which goes for around $700.00.
