It's a C-Clamp, and one made to acceptable standards of quality. It's certainly nicer than many bargain bin ones I've seen, though nothing crazy either. Still, if it works well and is deserving of its price range, I feel no reason not to give it five stars. Everybody needs a C-Clamp or two. They are one of the most versatile tools anybody can have. You can use them to compress brake calipers, hold things while adhesive cures, stop a fan belt while you remove an engine cooling fan, and so much more. I bought 6-inch at this time because it's one of the most versatile sizes, but will likely return in the future for some larger ones. When this thing is clamped down it feels very solid and there's no play in the shaft. I'm happy with it. Worth noting that this is made in China unlike Taiwan where a lot of Tekton tools are made.     • Perfect Heavy-Duty C-Clamps Really Hold Well
Great clamps! I bought two of these to help hold down a table-top power tool (mini) because I can't attach it permanently to the table. I also use this to hold pieces of wood attached to the table while I am cutting out a piece from the wood. For the table-top mini tool, I first put down two layers of a non-skid carpet material so that the tool won't slip. This way, the clamps hold tight and the table-top tool won't move while cutting is going on. The clamps are strong and hold without slipping around. I'm very pleased with them as a multi-use clamp. What more can you ask than that the clamps hold well, and that the screw works smoothly? ... show more

    • Big, cheap, c-clamp.

It's pretty big, and works. It's much lighter than my dad's similar-sized clamp, so it probably isn't as durable. However, it works for most of my projects. I have a bench vise that I move around a lot, so instead of bolting it to the work bench, I have 4 studs sticking up from my bench to prevent sliding, and then use this c-clamp to hold the vise down to the bench. The clamp has, in this configuration, to quite a bit of hammering. And I can easily remove it, and move the vise to the back of my van for work days, etc, too. ... show more

Really solid clamp. I got as an additional clamp for my kydex press and found it replaced all of my other clasps almost by itself, was really impressed with how fast and easy it was to clamp down with vs my other clamps, ordered a 2nd one and will probably just use these 2 on my press. If there was one complaint (not enough to sway my score) is my 1st one came scratched in several spots. Frankly that doesn't bother me but if it is something that might iterate you then be aware. Looks well crafted, clamps down without binding. Definitely works better than a 4" clamp, hopefully when it gets shipped out it's not in a flimsy shipping package due to it's weight.

I've gone through my fair share of C-Clamps and I have to say, I really like these Tekton clamps. Now, know that they ARE Chinese products...I'm pretty sure all Tekton tools are. They don't hide it, and in fact, they are a quality product, not junk like some have reported. As a big plus, Tekton's customer service is very good and they'll go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase. I've owend cheaper C-clamps that would bend and deform with much less force than these Tekton clamps. I've never had any problem with these. In my garage, I have Tekton bolt cutters, Torx screwdrivers and a variety of clamps...I'm very happy with them all so far. ... show more
