Description

Tekton deep sockets have large, stamped markings that are permanently impressed into the material by a roll-stamp die and are as large as possible while still being readable along the socket's curved surface. The exterior of the socket is chrome-plated to resist corrosion and wipe clean to a mirror finish. The interior is protected against corrosion with chrome plating that is supplemented with a clear coat or painted finish where needed for full coverage. The 6-point socket opening provides an exact fit and maximum contact for hex fasteners. Radiused corners prevent fastener round-off by applying force to a fastener's flat sides, rather than its corners. Four detent grooves provide a secure connection with the retaining ball of a drive tool, and beveled inner rims help guide the socket onto other tools. This set includes socket rail organization with twist-to-lock clips.

I like the holder that is 1/4 turn to remove or lock a socket back on the holder, easy to do with greasy hands. The sockets themselves are well made and the main reason I purchased this set is because it has the sizes normally skipped in sets, I needed a 23mm and most sets don't have that size included. Like the other Tekton tools I've bought, these are excellent quality. Heavy chrome, well-machined, easy-read markings, just generally excellent tools for the money. I would rate these as a "prosumer" product, better than my 25-year-old USA-made Craftsman. Now. On to David M and his trashing (literally and figuratively) of the included storage rail. He complains about the extreme difficulty of prying the sockets off the rail with a big screwdriver. That, my friend, is because these are "twist-to-lock" rails, as mentioned more than once in the Amazon listing. You don't pull (or pry) the sockets off. Just turn the socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise, and the rail releases it. Reverse the procedure to put it back. This is a nifty design, and I wish all my socket storage rails were this way. ... show more

sockets are great. i have numerous tekton tools and they all are high quality, much better than stuff made in china. these are made in taiwan, which everyone except china knows is not china. the holder however is not so good. reason is that the sockets lock onto the posts by turning. they hold too well and are very difficult to rotate to remove with greasy fingers. finger grease + chrome = stuck socket. ... show more
