  • Great Socket Set from Tekton
Style: Standard Size: 29-Piece (10 – 38 mm)
NO SIZE SKIPS, I absolutely detest sets with skips in their sizes. Invariably, the ones that are not included are the ones I need. The Metrics are the most frustrating to say the least. However, the SAE series do have their issues too. As I have said in other reviews about socket sets, there is nothing worse than NOT having the right tool for the job. The Tekton Metric Set and SAE Set are the best ones I have come across in a long time, [this review is for both]. Both set covers a wide range of sizes for any DIYer's or for the Professional. Both socket sets has 3 notable features: Refer to pic's 1...They are 6 point instead of 12 point 2...The depth of the socket's working area - deeper than most other sockets out there It ranges from 1/2" to 1-1/8" - kinda like a mini deep well type 3...The ease of attaching the socket to ratchet wrench Drive side of the socket an arc style cutout machine into them, including the corners. I would recommend these socket sets for the very serious to the shade tree type. They are well worth it. ... show more

  • Flying Under the Radar
Style: Standard Size: 23-Piece (10-32 mm)
Tekton is a company that seems to be flying under the radar, until last year I had never heard of this brand. After making several purchases of their tools I can say they seem to have good quality control for all of the tools I have look like high quality tools but at a discount price. I used their tools for only about a year (I can't say I use them daily for I'm not a mechanic by trade) but they seem to hold up well for a weekend mechanic or your average person who does their own general maintenance on their vehicles. ... show more

  • A great 1/2in drive no skip set
Style: Standard Size: 78-Piece (3/8-1-5/16 in. 10-32 mm)
As far as I am concerned Tekton has the best bang for buck tools on the market and this set is no exception. I work on cars, boats, and lawn equipment regularly and I haven't had any issues with my other Tekton tools so I think these sockets will hold up well and last for many years. I plan on ordering the 3/8 and 1/4in complete sets as well in the coming days. Note - my set arrived with a cosmetic defect on the standard 11mm socket (will ask Tekton to replace since its brand new) and one of the trays has a bent lock/unlock tab (looks like it happened during shipping). Neither of these are a deal breaker for me and definitely not worth the hassle of getting a replacement set from Amazon. Tekton has a great warranty and very friendly people to deal with if any issues come up. I will update if any issues occur with trying to get the replacement 11mm but I'm sure it will be smooth sailing. ... show more

  • Good sockets, good value. Ignore David M. There is nothing wrong with the rails.
Style: Standard Size: 15-Piece (10-24 mm)
Like the other Tekton tools I've bought, these are excellent quality. Heavy chrome, well-machined, easy-read markings, just generally excellent tools for the money. I would rate these as a "prosumer" product, better than my 25-year-old USA-made Craftsman. Now. On to David M and his trashing (literally and figuratively) of the included storage rail. He complains about the extreme difficulty of prying the sockets off the rail with a big screwdriver. That, my friend, is because these are "twist-to-lock" rails, as mentioned more than once in the Amazon listing. You don't pull (or pry) the sockets off. Just turn the socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise, and the rail releases it. Reverse the procedure to put it back. This is a nifty design, and I wish all my socket storage rails were this way. ... show more
