    • Sharp - work great.
I don't use these for their intended use. I am using them for etching plates for drypoint. They work well for that. Points are sharp, butts are smooth and round - good for burnishing. They also work well as impromptu bo-shuriken. Probably not recommended to use them this way.

    • Weak tips
While the tips of them are very sharp, the second I touched it to my etching board, the points just bent and snapped off. I’m etching on non-glare plaskolite, which is soft enough for a fingernail to scratch. So I am disappointed by that, but they are still working well to get deep lines. And the quality is expected for the cost. It will work for what I need it for, but I can’t imagine they will last very long even if I sharpen them. ... show more

I purchased this product for use on clay ScratchBoards. They both work amazing for that kind of art!(sliced right through the paper version "scratchboard") Sturdy when in the hand. Feels like the tips will not snap. And long enough to comfortably hold in hand like a pencil for extended periods of time. Only downside I noticed was how slippery they can get. I was using this for dry art. If you were to use these for work that has your hands wet I can easily see them slipping out of your hand or sliding and poking yourself.
