These coconut whitening strips are delicious! Though advertised for sensitive teeth, this product should have as little contact with your gums as possible. The only discomfort caused by these strips was done so along my gum line where they touched. Because the line varies, especially near my top pointer teeth, it was difficult to avoid across the board. Once on, these have amazing grip and hold well in place. I leave them for an hour before removal. Application is, however, a bit tricky. These strips are not equal in size, by either width nor length. The shorter, wider strip is meant to be used on your lower teeth, but this does not make any sense to me. Most people have a larger set of teeth on top. The thinner strip is better for the height of my lower teeth, while too thin to adequately cover the height of my top row, mainly my 2 front teeth. These are very flimsy little strips, so you constantly have to use great care when handling or they just stick to themselves like tape. Both strips must be stretched in order to reach all of your back teeth, as they would miss 2 on each side of my own mouth, just out of the box. Make sure you properly dry your teeth before applying, and keep blotting as you align each side to your mouth. Once wet, these are a hot and slippery mess that will no longer stick to the surface, but indefinitely to itself. Once you get the hang of it, the application process is much smoother, but I'll admit I absolutely faced some difficulties with a few of them. While this product did brighten my smile, they are not crest strips. I realize they are also about half the cost of a box of the name brand (when on sale), but they also contain half the amount of whitening treatments. Since those were the only other brand of strips I've tried prior to this, I still had high hopes for this off-brand version, even though it was made for more sensitive subject matter. Unfortunately, the difference between the two is like night and day. These coconut strips were not nearly as effective for me. While you can buy less at once, these are not a cheaper version in the end, yet still an inferior product. As these were designed for more sensitive teeth, I will say that they did not cause any irritation to mine, only slightly on contact with my gums. They also did provide whitening power, though weaker than expected. If name brands are too harsh on your teeth, I would still recommend trying these. Maybe a 2nd box would help to achieve better results. The lack of power, alone, is why these only get 4 stars.
