What an awesome gift for a TMNT fan - my nephew turned 6 and this was his present. He hadn’t used a hoverboard before so would say it took about 30mins for him to get sturdy and feel confident but once he did there’s no stopping him. We charged it the night before so it would be ready to go, so we’d recommend doing that. It runs for about 2 hours (if used constantly) and charges within a few hours. The wheels have cool led lights that work when it’s moving. Another cool detail is that you can interchange the graphics on the wheels so you can personalize it and continue to change it. Has non-slip pads for the feet and it’s very responsive so you don’t need to lean your weight too much in order to make it go forward, back turn etc. again I would say it took him another 20mins to really get a feel for it and now it’s impressive how well he controls it AND how fast he now goes!

I bought this hoverboard for an 8 year old who absolutely loves TMNT. They loved the graphics! It’s so fun and colorful, comic strip style. The size and speed of the hoverboard is just right for his age. It tops out at 6mph, which I consider a slow jog to keep up with, haha. It is able to run for about 3 miles, which provides at least 30 minutes under constant use. Usually the charge lasts longer since it isn’t always running at full speed. The quality of the hoverboard feels solid and sturdy. The wheels have good traction and run over small bumps and whatnot easily. Pay attention to the weight, it is more sensitive above the weight limit. Below the weight limit it is fine and it accelerates more gradually. User friendly design and familiar controls. A nice hoverboard for younger kids.

This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Hoverboard is soooo cool! It's perfect for beginners like me because it's easy to learn and goes up to 6 mph. I can cruise around for about 3 miles before needing to recharge. Plus, the light-up wheels make it look awesome at night. It's a blast to ride and feels super safe!

Great quality hover board. Easy to use. Charges quickly. Goes a good speed to be used in the house. Nice design to it as well. A little hefty price point but its a good board. Pretty heavy duty and durable

The media could not be loaded. The first thing to mention is that every time you turn it on, it has to be flat on the floor otherwise it just beeps error codes and won’t calibrate so you won't be able to use it. It also does this if pick it up while its turned on. This can be confusing at first since it’s not mentioned in the instructions, but is really easy to fix the annoying error beeps once you figure it out. My 5-year-old and 7-year-old both love this hoverboard. It’s a good learning board because it’s really slow. It goes about as fast as a brisk walk. While it says it can go 6mph, that must be the max speed with no weight on it, for example if you’re lifting it off the ground flooring it. When someone is standing on it, this goes much slower. You control the speed and direction with the purple footpads. The footpads sense pressure from your body weight and can be very sensitive if you’re towards the weight limit (130 lbs). I think this added sensitivity is good for smaller children because if you’re only 40 lbs. it’s a lot less sensitive than if you’re 130 lbs. I’d also question whether this would actually support more than 80+ lbs without breaking. I would say this is really intended as a starter toy for smaller children. This comes mostly charged so the first time you use it is charges very fast. If you drain this, it takes 4+ hours to charge. One charge lasts a very long time, my children can play with this for 30+ minutes without draining the battery. This makes beeping sounds when you move the footpads and there’s a lot of green light bars that make this look nice when it’s dark, but is harder to see in the daytime. The last thing to mention is that the wheels are small so it doesn’t handle bumps very well. I think the tendency is for a child to floor it when it gets stuck at a bump, which can cause one wheel to go over and spin out from under you while the other wheel is stuck at the bump. My daughter fell off and landed on her butt a couple times this way. I would recommend using a helmet when using this. In summary, this is a fun toy for smaller children. It doesn’t go fast, holds a long charge, but it won’t support larger children.
