Locking mechanism locks all drawers of cabinet. 5 casters offers additional support and easy mobility. It is made of MDF with a moisture laminate veneer on scratch- resistant powder-coated steel supports. Shelf is made of a heavy-duty 8 mm tempered safety glass. This is perfect for a small office. I needed a small file cabinet with storage. This is perfect, and so pretty. The best part is, it has wheels! The size is perfect It took some time to put together, but the directions were easy to follow. I did it by myself and it wasn't too bad. It was packaged well and I didn't have any damage to my pieces. I would recommend this product. It is a great value for what you get, really sleek and modern looking. Its nice to have the shelf so you have two areas to keep things. And it looks good. And the Wheels are a main reason I bought this. It is so handy to have it on wheels. When it was only $100, it was a fair deal. It’s no heirloom furniture. The finish is nice but when you reach for a drawer, you feel how cheaply made it is. It does the trick at the price point.

UPDATE: Get an electric screwdriver, boom, problem solved. I use this all the time and lock it up often. Holds good. I’m leaving my below post because it was valid at the time. ——————- The assembly of this product is literally the worst. I don’t mind putting together things - desks, beds, etc.; but this one takes the cake to be so small. I will say all parts and pieces are labeled nicely. But now that I have put it all together, the drawers do not shut. I have tried to contact the manufacturer for help, but here we are, with open drawers still and no solution. I will return this product, sadly, because it could have been great. FYI, not sure how important, but the glass is blue. No, there’s not a protective film, I checked. However, I liked it until the drawers didn’t close. With all that said, I’ll give this 1 stars because you cannot leave zero for horrible customer service. ... show more

    • Perfect as a side table

This little file cabinet is delightful! I'm using it as a side table next to my couch. I needed something with drawers as my dog kept stealing my remotes, hair ties, and pens off the old table I had. I love the unique tempered glass ledge/shelf on top. It is great for drinks (with coasters). I also have room for a small lamp. Between the ledge/shelf and the top of the file cabinet is a great place to stash remotes: I can reach them but my dog's nose cannot. In the top drawer I have ear buds, spare batteries, scissors, hair ties, pens, and duct tape. In the large drawer is my mail...I keep it in a stack. I read this method in an organizing book for ADHD. Shred old utility bills as soon as the new one comes in. Chuck junk mail immediately. Keep mortgage statements and anything else you need to keep in a stack (remove from envelopes). At the end of the year put it in a box or envelope labeled with the year and stash it in a closet for as long as you're required to keep it. Anyway, before I bought this my stack was in the dining room table. This is perfect. As for assembly, I used a drill with a tiny bit to make the holes a little bigger. I have experience assembling this type of furniture at work, and the screws on this item were really hard to screw in even with making the predrilled holes wider & deeper. The trouble I had with the tiny predrilled holes is why I've marked it so low on Assembly I'm an office worker, screwing in all those screws gave me blisters. The good news is once the screws are in, they provide a really sturdy connection. The drawers rill smoothly in and out. I love the extra anti-tip roller on the file drawer... tipping is a problem I have with a metal cabinet I have. The instructions are good and it comes with all the hardware needed for assembly, even an actual screwdriver. One caveat: I somehow misunderstood which way to attach the rails to each drawer. When I attempted to put the drawers into the cabinet I realized I'd done something wrong and fixed them. Once that was fixed the drawers rolled in smooth as pudding. This cabinet is more shallow than I imagined (front to back). This is a great, versatile cabinet for someone with limited space. The color: I think I ordered slate. I didn't really want black or gray, so I was happy to find the glass shelf is blue and the cabinet itself is kind of speckled blue/black. I really like it. Though I don't anticipate needing to use it, I tested the lock feature and it is easy to lock and unlock using the included key (2 identical keys included). One keyhole locks both drawers at once. Speaking of locks, two of the wheels have locks which may be helpful on hard floors. ... show more

Nice to Okay cabinet, a little on the small side, but a nightmare to put together! Est. assembly time 1-2-3+hrs. The outside facing panels were scratched, poorly packaged. Vinyl covers most of the holes in the panels, so you need to be careful during assembly not to rip it when pushing screws through, kuz its just cheap particle board underneath. They give you a bunch of extra screws, & your gonna need em because the hardware, especially the cam-locks, are garbage. I will never buy a un-assembled file cabinet again. I'd rather pay the extra $40 to buy it pre-assembled ready to go. At the end of the day tho, its a decent file cabinet. ... show more

It was a great adquisition overall. Good size in general, elegant, nice color matching with my desk. However the lower file drawer, does not fit legal files. The drawer can keep letter or extraletter size, but if you are thinking to hang hanger carpets, you may have to order an extra holder to place inside the drawer to hold the carpets because the original hangers bars of the drawer are to apart and I couldn't found any carpet size to fit exactly. I liked the tempered glass finish giving and extra space for paper. My printer Cannon PIXMA fits perfect. Also has 5 wheels with locks to move easy or to keep stable and safe and general lock with two keys. ... show more
