I’ve been a Tech21 user for several years. I appreciate the company’s initiatives towards environmentalism and the simplicity of their design. They implement sustainable practices and recycle their own cases to make new ones. You simply mail in your old case and rest a bit easier knowing it’s not slated for a landfill somewhere in southeast Asia or Africa. I used the same case for over six years. Finally got a different phone and chose the equivalent case for it. I like the smoothness of the back. The ribbing around the edges helps with grip and the lip along the front is tall enough to protect the screen, even with a screen protector. The lip surrounding the camera bump is equally tall enough to protect the lenses without being obnoxious. My previous case, the EVO Tactical, was super protective - it saved my phone from innumerable drops. The button covers were molded as part of the case. While they made for difficult pressing when say, resetting the phone, they also prevented accidental button presses. The new case is the opposite. The button covers seem to be separate pieces that float in the case. This makes for much easier button pushing. The down side is that I’m constantly taking accidental screenshots and activating voice control. That said, the case has saved the new phone from a few instances of butter fingers already. I’d prefer a bit more stiffness/resistance on the button covers, however, this is a minor issue. The opening at the top for the earpiece is needlessly wide and allows for dust to creep in easily. Perfect fit and just the right weight. Light protection. But the back of the case doesn’t work well with popsocket adhesives.
