  • Cleaner Fix Than Standard Zip Ties and Worth the Switch Cleaner Fix Than Standard Zip Ties and Worth the Switch
This review is for the following item: TEAWOO 50 Pcs Nylon Universal Cable Tie Buckles, High-Strength Self-Locking Zip Ties, Car Bumper Fender Retainers, Fasteners for Automotive Repair & Home Organization. It cost $4.99 when I ordered it. I ordered these fasteners hoping they would improve the appearance of a repair I had already made on the bottom trim pieces of both front seats in my 2020 Ford Explorer. Over time the front trim pieces separated from the side trim pieces, and the snap-in tabs on both pieces broke, making it impossible to reconnect them the original way. As a quick fix I drilled small holes through both pieces and secured them with standard zip ties. That held everything together, but it definitely was not pretty. When I saw these ties with a cleaner design, I figured they were worth a try. The fasteners worked about as well as I expected, and they do look noticeably better than the original repair with traditional zip ties. One thing I really liked is that their design only required drilling a single hole to use them, compared to the two holes I needed for the standard ties. That made installation a bit simpler and slightly less invasive. The black color also helped a lot since it blends in with the interior trim much better than the white zip ties I used the first time. Realistically, the way these trim pieces failed means you are never going to get a perfect factory-looking repair without replacing the parts entirely. But for a practical and economic fix that holds things together and looks reasonably tidy, these are a big step up from basic ties. They have stayed secure so far and seem durable enough for long term use. Pricewise they are a solid value. At roughly ten cents per tie, they are inexpensive enough that even small improvements in appearance and ease of installation make them worthwhile. ... show more

  • I prefer cable ties for their universal handiness over this type of fastener
Exactly as described but I haven’t figured out a situation where these would be helpful. I can’t ding this manufacturer because these were not represented accurately, they were. I am the one at fault because I haven’t yet found a use for this type of fastener. They’re sturdy and like I said, exactly what you see in the description. I would advise you to think carefully because these are not as universally useful as cable ties (which I use for lots of things). I imagine my husband can find uses for these, so I plan on letting him figure out what to use these for! 😅 ... show more

  • Toolbox Must
For this price you can't go wrong! They are easy to use. A must have for fixing that annoying flapping piece of plastic on your fender. Works great for vehicles of all sizes, ATVs included. These are durable and should hold up well.

  • Versatile, strong, and easy to use
These are like zip ties but more versatile. Where a fastened zip tie forms a loop, these two-part ties act more like a nut and bolt, allowing you to place it straight through the hole and fasten it securely without that extra piece wrapping around. They’re sturdy, hold tightly, and appear to be durable and long lasting. The size was perfect for me. I used them to fasten some hard-to-reach non-load-bearing parts when we were assembling our new shed and they worked perfectly. Once you clip off the excess, they leave a nice finished look. The package had a lot of these so I’m sure I’ll be finding many more uses for them around our house and in the garden. ... show more

  • Stronger than some cable ties, these are handy for certain repairs or bindings, with limits. Stronger than some cable ties, these are handy for certain repairs or bindings, with limits.
A big advantage of this design is that it does not need to be looped, like a traditional zip-tie. This sample measured 3 3/4 inches long, a T-base width of 3/4 inches, and a cap at 5/8 inches across. Minimum hole size needed is 3/16 inches or 4.76 mm, if you have access to both sides. Having to insert the T-base into a hole (access to one side only) requires said hole to be over twice as big at 23/64 inches or 9.13 mm at bare minimum. A load fail test was performed on two product samples. They performed well enough to be considered heavy-duty, holding 6 standard bricks or 21 pounds before failure. Another takeaway from the load fail test; failure was at the cap buckle ratcheting mechanism. Interestingly, the Seller claims these have non-slip buckles. However, I'd rather have a cap buckle failure than a failure at the strap T-base. Three negatives, first the straps are ribbed on only one side, an irritation if installing this in a tight spot or in a low light environment, since the cap can be installed backwards and not hold. Second, if the strap T-base has to be installed through a tight hole the strap takes a semi-permanent bend (as seen in the two single strap photos) making it much harder to get the cable tie buckle tight enough. Lastly, the seller claims that this is a convenient alternative to screws, and in an unseen light duty scenario, I agree. However, if there is a painted or finished surface, please be aware that these are difficult to remove while not damaging the surface near it. These can also fail under load and are not always a substitute for steel screws. ... show more

  • Excellent for small cable tie needs. Definitely not reusable or easily removable. Excellent for small cable tie needs. Definitely not reusable or easily removable.
For just about $5, I would say this is a great value for these cable ties, as long as you need a lot of small cable ties like this. These cable ties are quite small, but they're made for securing body panels and any job like that which can be accomplished with a short tie. They're perfect for the job, and very small and lightweight, as you can see. They only secure with the circular piece in one direction, and you'll hear and feel clicks when it's being pushed on. Once they're on, they can't be removed easily at all, and the plastic is very strong with a good grip. The T-shape that's on the top gives you a sturdy hold on one side, and the circular piece sits flush on the other end of the cable. It makes for an easy installation, and it only takes a few seconds to put one through a hole, pull tight, and then trim off the excess. There's no easy way to remove then short of cutting them off, and in fact that's the only way I could find to remove them. So, don't use them anywhere with a plan to pull them off, because that's not going to happen. Also don't plan to reuse them, because they aren't reusable. * I only review things that I personally use myself and keep using often. * I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. * I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. * I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, and everything in between. * If I get multiple of something it's because I regularly use and need both of them. * And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected. ... show more

  • Fun little cable ties with lots of uses Fun little cable ties with lots of uses
This is the first time that I've used this sort of cable tie. I'm used to the loop ties, but these stay straight for securing something to an opening. I was excited to see this shape because I have some odd uses for them. I'm planning on using them for making cosplay items and other crafts, for building bird perches when I don't want to use bolts, and for various uses with my garden and chicken coop. Overall, I'm excited to have these! They are listed as high-strength, but after using many cable ties in my daily life, I feel like this is more of a medium strength cable tie. The short length is fine, because they don't loop around. You do have to place the little stopper on the proper direction. You'll hear it clicking when it is correct. Oh gees, now I'm just sitting here thinking of all the ways I could use these. ... show more
