    • My first racing short course truck
I had a few ready to run (RTR) Traxxas Slashes (2WD and 4WD). This kit with the right electronics and tires blows them away. But in all fairness the Slash is more of a Jack of all trades and master of none where the Team Associated RC10SC6.4 is designed for racing. The kit is tedious to put together but well worth it when completed. For the electronics I used a Reefs RC 299:LP servo for a quick and powerful steering response. I had a Reedy 1000z+ Pro available and installed that in. As of right now, I have the settings on the default settings and it seems to work for the track conditions. The motor I went with is a Reedy SP5 13.5 turn motor. I have JConcept wheels with Proline Prism SC tires. Since this kit comes with with a ball differential (used for outdoor tracks) I had to buy a gear differential for indoor track use. I took it to the track for the first time (2-15-2024) and it was very enjoyable to drive. The tires provided good grip, the electronics did their part without any problems. The SCT (short course truck) is very responsive and well balanced. I highly recommend this kit for people that want to be competitive on the track. ... show more
