TW: I'm an adult reviewing a phone. (TL;DR at the bottom) I was looking for a smartphone replacement for my wife, and I come across this bad boy. Look, what I was looking for was simple. What is the most bang for my buck, and I set a hard limit of $300. While pondering I came across this device and did some of my own personal research, (youtube, google, reading other's reviews), and I concluded the following to be the reason I'd suggest this phone to those with, the right mindset. -What are we buying? An affordable smartphone -How is the price? As of my purchase $230 (taxes included/ CA USA) -What's with the screen? Its pretty neat huh? Its a matte finish (smooth like paper) screen at 120hz at 1080 x 2400. It can do some cool book reading lighting, both with color or black and white. Its neat and sweet <3 -Big ass camera! Yeah its pretty big, and its alright! It does the job fast and well, could be better if you know how to! If you know how to you a camera with your understanding of photography, might be in your wheel house! -How does the battery do? Not too bad actually, its rather surprising being able to brain rot on a lazy day all day and still be fine at 30% by dinner time. This VERY OBVIOUSLY depends on your brightness settings, volume, etc. (40Vol, 60%Brightness for me) -Is it durable? Buy a damn case, just be smart like with all phones and put it in a case. That being said, yeah its nice, I really like the finish on the back. I LOVE this phone. Best value for the price I've seen. The screen is vibrant, the matte finish is wonderful and glare free. The camera is clear and takes nice pictures. The different display modes are also quite useful. Battery life has been great so far. I charged it fully on receipt and so far, even after using it pretty heavily, have not dropped below 60% at the end of the day. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking for a solid android at a decent price.

Incredible phone for 170 dollars with the black Friday savings, I picked up the White version, I like that better than that blue option. The phone matte screen is great, movies, videos and everything looks great on the matte display, this display looks even better than my more expensive OLED boring displays, the TCL 60 XE is really fast with the 120fps and decent CPU, 8gigs of dram and 128gigs of space is awesome. The Display is not quad-hd, but it looks great, colors look awesome on the matte IPS screen. The CPU is budget but it works great with this phone, everything is fast, I ran thru app after app, I was playing videos, movies and it did not stutter, flawlessly moved from one app to the next and it opens movies and videos immediately with no delay, that is incredible for a sub-200-dollar phone. I highly recommend picking this up during the Black Friday special pricing, get the White version, trust me, it's a nice matte white color. I highly recommend the NAKEDCELLPHONE CLEAR CASE with the Screen Protector all in one, just do a search on amazon for it, its clear and protects front and back. Pros: 1. Great Value for 170 dollars 2. I love this Matte Screen 3. Colors and Movies and Videos look great on this phone 4. 120fps, incredibly fast and goes thru apps and videos with no delays 5. Love the White color option Cons: 1. Not a fan of the Blue version 2. Its not the TCL 60 Ultra 3. Not alot of case options yet

If you are on the fence on purchasing a TCL 60 XE I would recommend going with it. PROs: -very pretty screen, and the paper modes do wonders for reading clarity and eye strain. -Amazing battery life, I get 3 to 4 days on a single charge depending on usage. -good camera, clear picture, -price, there's a lot in this phone for it's $220 price tag -no blote, always a good thing to see. -Build quality, seems good, the camera bump is a tad big, but that seems to be standard for all phones nowadays. CONS: -bluetooth encoding. While it supports 5.3, the audio quality over Bluetooth is noticeably bad! I am no audio connoisseur, but it was bad enough that even I could tell. It does not support any HD audio formats and has bad sample rate. If you care, purchase a USB-C Bluetooth adapter like I did and use that instead, or use analog headphones. -Speakers, they are loud, but sound terrible. Very tinny sounding. Side note; I had a strange issue when wirelessly connecting to Android auto where I couldn't tap the screen on the car. Changing settings and developer options seem to fix this.

Not sure why this phone is a 4 star. For a sub $200 phone the value is outstanding. Apps are smooth and run fast enough. Love the screen size. If I had to nitpick, the side fingerprint reader is slightly odd for its position on the phone. The charging is not that fast as it claims. Expect to charge for an hour for a full charge. Impressed with the eink display. i was able to just pop in my SIM and it worked with my provider, tello.

It's a nice phone but takes some getting used to after the tcl30xl. It's got some cool features and a faster drive than their other phones for sure. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is the battery life. It doesnt last any longer than their other phones and that is a disappointment. Maybe their next phone will have that upgrade
