It’s a fine auger, however…First, the auger comes in two parts that are screwed together. I recommend using a product like Locktite 271, a low viscosity solution and apply it to the threaded section of the auger before screwing together. This action will permanently freeze the joint so it will not come apart if, for some reason, you need to reverse the auger. Unfortunately, I reversed the drill, the auger unscrewed, and the lower half is stuck in the ground, stopping my project while I figure out how to get it out.

I have a rather deep compost pile that is hard to turn so this makes quick and easy work of it. I would recommend having a handle on the drill to help with your wrist otherwise it gets a little jerky on your arm but its doing what it is designed to do. would be a good option for digging for plant seedlings or bulbs.

Read other reviews to manage your expectations. If you’re planning to use in gardens/flower beds with already broken soil, this works great. My area is a thin layer of topsoil with clay beneath. This auger went through topsoil fine, it wouldn’t go through the clay. My drill started smoking trying to get through the clay. I wasn’t trying to force it, I was letting the auger do its work, but it just couldn’t get through it. I got maybe 6 inches in, if that. I needed two feet down. Pre-soaked clay soil isn’t any better. This auger isn’t balanced, it wobbles like crazy. As I said, if you’re using it in souls already prepped / managed for gardens I’m sure it works great.

Wow did these make bulb planting easy. We are in Montana with very rocky soil and these were amazing. We were able to plant 25 Daffodils and 8 groups of Dahlias in no time at all!!

I can't believe I hadn't discover these before! These auger for my drill have saved me a ton of work in the garden when transplanting seedlings in the ground. They are well made so I believe I'm looking at a long time using these from now on. And you get two different sizes for a very reasonable price. I used them with my cordless drill and in no time I had transplanted 50 sunflower seedlings. I also used them to set my ultrasonic repellers in my garden. I never knew all my garden job could be done at such speed.

The bigger one worked great! Honestly the smaller one was kind of useless. The bigger one makes planting flowers so easy! It was so much faster than having to dig out each hole, especially when you’re planting a lot of flowers.
