  • Motor works but not usable and can't sell it off. Stuck with a motor I can't use.
Size: 3.5HP & 2-Stroke(TYPE ONE), Water-Coo...
I need to contact support to get the Manufacturer Certificate of Origin (MSO) and a signed bill of sale, but can't load their Chinese website cuz I'm in the US. I asked once before and they just sent me the amazon receipt which is useless at the parks and wildlife. My state requires an MSO and Bill of Sale so I can register the motor. Since I can't contact them I have to hope they see this. Otherwise I will have wasted $250 on a motor I can't use and can't sell cuz it needs to be registered in order to sell it to someone else. They already had to send me the vin number before cuz it didn't come with one which already astonished me. Just get an Electric motor, save yourself the hassle and the strict requirements on boats our gov sets. I got an inflatable for this and not only can't I get it fully registered to use but I also have to spend another $200 on Coast guard approved boat lights. FOR AN INFLATABLE RAFT! I've been trying to get it all sorted out for over 6 months now. I've taken the boat out once and had to paddle it to get by on restrictions. ... show more

  • What battery should I buy for my 48v outboard?
Size: 1200W
The media could not be loaded. Updated review below: ***I made a mistake. The green button is not a kill switch for internal combustion motors, it's cruise control which is amazing. ***** Updated Review. When you receive this motor lift the cowl and inspect the wires going from the 48 volt gauge at the top of the cowl, to the controller. Mine had whatever white marine grade sealant they use to seal the controller all over it, which led to an intermittent loose connection. I cleaned the black and red butt connectors and have had no issues with this motor since. ****Old issue- fixed anove. Unfortunately I had some issues after 0.7 mi of operation. I'm going to go through and check all the connections before I leave an updated review. I'll update the review in the future, this is just to get you up and running. I had an old e-bike battery laying around, and that worked out really well. The price point for this battery now is around 5 or 600 bucks so you should budget that in. (They sell this battery on Amazon, just type 48 volt lithium battery and look for one that looks like the one in this video) I've seen people run multiple lead acid batteries and I find the weight to be prohibitive especially in my application which is an inflatable dinghy. This particular battery weighs maybe 15 lb and the outboard maybe weighs 20 to 30 pounds, so for my application --which is primarily utilized before the ice in the cold fall months I really don't want to lug batteries in and out of an inflatable. In my opinion this is a really efficient setup that's light, and easy to install, quick to remove, proven technology, but I'll leave a more detailed review after a month of utilizing the motor in the water. I just crossed in 30° weather, and the motor did okay. There's no possible way it's 5 HP, and the math that I used places it more at around 3 horsepower. This is how I'll describe it, it is the fastest trolling motor slowest outboard I've ever used, but it worked. It was so nice not having to mess with gasoline and just turning a key and having it work. It is noisy, I thought maybe being in the water would take out some of the noise from the prop, but what you are hearing in the video is pretty much what it sounds like. Next crossing I think I'll wear ear plugs. I had to go half a mile and it took me about 7 minutes. There is no wind and no waves so that's going to be about as fast as this thing goes. ... show more

  • 196cc 7 hp outboard
Size: 7HP & 4-Stroke, Air-Cooling
I’ll update as I go along and learn more about the unit : 1. Don’t believe anything the manual says. Check over and verify everything! The lower unit was dry as a bone but in the manual it says it’s full. 2. There is no choke as I know it on this unit. You must use the linkage to get it closed. I reached out via email and got nada company response. 3. Take your time to learn what you have because it is a cheap outboard and no one is going to help you. Grease and lube everything! 4. I got it running and there are some concerning noises coming from the unit. It may be the flywheel slapping about or the like but I will keep you up to date on its use. 5. I’m at a 3 out of 5 so far. Update: Looks like it’s better on the noise. I’ve learned how to use the tilt, locking mechanisms. Upgrade to 4 of 5 ... show more

  • Killer Deal IT WORKS!! & It’s WORTH every Penny
Size: 3.6HP & 2-Stroke, Water-Cooling
The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this motor for 2 seasons now sending during the summer of 2022 through the winter of 2022 for duck hunting then again the spring/summer of 2023 and currently using now this 2023 duck season. I have done absolutely nothing to this motor except for take it out of the box and put regular 80W90 gear oil in the lower unit (very simple) and ran cheep 87 fuel and cheap 2 cycle at a ratio of round 25:1 and it’s been flawless. It’s started every time in 5 or less pulls no matter the weather conditions anywhere from 98 degrees to low 20s. I have absolutely no complaints for the low cost under $250 . It’s simple if you want an easy running reliable motor then get it but don’t expect a sub $250 motor to operate like a $1000 mercury or last as long. I run this motor harder and through worse stuff than I ever have my 9.9 evenrude. I also purchased this on EBay for 209 with free shipping so that can save you $30. I have ran this on my 1648 Jon boat at 5.5 MPH and on the little 8ft bass raider it goes 7.7 mph not gonna win any races but it will get you where you need to go and it sure beats paddling! ... show more
