Description

New York Times bestseller 1 Sunday Times bestseller Learn about the glittering story of Taylor Swift! The talented singer-songwriter who dreamed of sharing her talent with the world. The perfect gift for every Swiftie in your life, young and old, this powerful book features captivating illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with photos of the star and a detailed profile of her life. Little Taylor grew up on her family’s Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania. Her life changed at six years old when she attended her first concert. Dancing and singing in the crowd as country musician LeAnn Rimes performed, Taylor fell in love with country music. Some of the kids at school didn’t understand, but Taylor managed to shake it off. She took her first steps towards stardom by recording a demo of cover songs and sending it to record labels in Nashville, the home of country music. Yet while she enjoyed singing others’ songs, she knew all too well that she needed to express herself in her own words. When she began writing her own lyrics and melodies, her talent for putting feelings into words shone through. After signing with a record label, she started working on her first album: Taylor Swift. It became very popular, very quickly. Soon, she had earned a number one single on the country music charts. Next, she released her second album, a country-pop record named Fearless, it was a hit, and suddenly everyone knew her name. She won a Grammy and started to write more pop music for her albums—all the while keeping storytelling at the center of her work. Several albums and sell-out world tours followed. Despite the obstacles in her way, Taylor has always stood up for what she believes in and always believed in herself! • Great book and Little People, Big Dreams is a wonderful series of books!
This book just unexpectedly came to my attention - either via an Amazon e-mail or maybe Face Book. The young girls, ages 7 & 8 years old that I sent it to loved the book. The entire Little People Big Dreams series is outstanding!

  • Perfect for Little Swifties
So I reviewed this for two reasons. One I am a MASSIVE Taylor Swift fan. I grew up along side her just like the story said. And, two I love getting pictures books about Taylor Swift to share with my two year old niece. I would 100 percent buy this one for my niece. Let’s start with I didn’t know Taylor’s grandmother was an opera singer. So as a fan since Fearless came out I learned something new. Other than the cover art, which is the only bad part of the book. The illustrations are good. I liked how it drew her as she got older. Also thank you who ever added the reputation era in the book. It is always overlooked. This was a cute, uplifting picture book any young swiftie would love. Also the timeline in the back was an added plus. And the drawing of Taylor sleeping with her cats was adorable. The illustrations had a lot of added details like pictures on the wall. It was appreciated. I also think this story has a good message for those who read it. Stand out, be kind, stand up for what you believe in and the only approval you need is your own. ... show more

  • Lovely and Cute
I loved this cute, little book! It’s perfect for the littles, the middles and the bigs. 😄 I don’t know of anyone who hasn’t heard of Taylor Swift by now, but if you haven’t, this is a wonderful introduction to her life, from a little child to the present-day powerhouse that she is. The illustrations are wonderful and really capture Ms. Swift’s energy and personality. Any child would be enthralled by both the colorful drawings throughout and the beautiful photos and timeline at the very end of the book. It’s a great way to create little Swifties 😉, and I am all for it! Well done to both Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara (writer) and Borghild Fallberg (illustrator). I hope they collaborate on other books! Taylor Swift is amazing, and if you want to read about my transformation to a dyed-in-the-wool, true blue, through and through Swiftie, read on. This book review got me thinking about TS, and then the creative juices started flowing. What follows is not meant to diminish the book “Taylor Swift” in any way. If anything, I hope it enhances it. If you don’t like Taylor, please scroll on. *ahem* Full disclosure: I am a Swiftie. I wasn’t before I took my girls to see her Eras concert movie last fall I remember seeing her debut album and liked “Tim McGraw” when it came out, but then when “Red” was released, a couple of famous breakup songs were extremely overplayed, and I got sick of hearing them. This was followed by “Shake it Off” and “Blank Space”, both also overplayed to the max (although I enjoyed a couple of other songs on 1989), and I wrote her off a little bit, subconsciously. I hated “End Game” from “Reputation”, so I didn’t listen to any of the other songs on there. I did enjoy the album “Lover”, but when she came out with her pandemic albums, I was turned off by the covers and no capitals, so I only ever heard “cardigan” one time, thought it sucked (I don’t think that now) and refused to give the rest of the albums a chance. Supremely shortsighted of me? Yes, yes indeed. Then came the Eras concert movie. I went because other relatives were going, and I didn’t want to let down my daughter. We sat in our seats—my brother, his wife (also my BFF), my nephew, two nieces, my daughter and myself. The movie began. And I was absolutely blown away. I was amazed by Taylor’s performances, her charisma, her sheer enthusiasm and above all, her STAMINA. This woman apparently prepared for the tour by running at top speed while belting out each song in the concert playlist., and it shows, people. I also was shocked not only by how many new songs I loved, but how many I had heard before, liked and didn’t realize they were Taylor’s songs! I’m having a hard time coming up with words to describe how I felt after seeing such a powerful performance by an amazing, strong woman. If you haven’t seen her concert movie, I encourage you to see it. If you’ve been lucky enough to see the concert in person—know of my undying jealousy. My two daughters and I ended up seeing the movie multiple times and thoroughly enjoying ourselves every single time. I quickly learned all of the concert playlist, and we all sang along to each song. Precious memories were made. As a parent, I always try to admit to my kids if I learn I was wrong about something or someone. Taylor Swift, kids? I was wrong about her. She is a phenomenal songwriter, singer, performer and overall human being. She uses her fame and wealth for so much good. Taylor deserves all the awards, and then some. I can’t wait to see what else she produces, and I’m excited for more to come in her ever-expanding body of work. “Tortured Poets Department”, anyone? Thank you for coming to my TAYLOR Talk. 😁 #swiftieforlife #taylorswift #taylorswiftrules #myhusbandisaswiftienowtoo #familyofswifties ... show more

  • inspiring swifties of all ages
If you’ve ever wondered how a girl named Taylor became the megastar Taylor Swift, here is a short book that takes her from her early days living on a Christmas tree farm to her Eras tour. The Little People, Big Dreams series offers up a picture book that tells in just 32 pages how a little girl fell in love with country music and learned how to make it her own. Taylor Swift, named for James Taylor, grew up in a musical family. But it wasn’t until her parents took her to a country music concert as a child that she wanted to make music of her own. She didn’t have many friends at school, but she had music, and she had the drive to work hard. She started out recording herself singing other people’s songs, and she got some encouragement. But she realized that if she really wanted to made a difference, she would have to write her own songs. Taylor took lessons in singing and acting and learned to play the guitar and piano. But more than that, she started to find her voice, and she started writing lyrics about her own thoughts and feelings. This is where she stared to find professional success, and she got a record deal, released her own albums, and started winning awards. But part of Taylor’s success comes from the devotion of her fans. She makes room for them in her music, adding in hidden messages in her lyrics and music videos. But mostly, she is kind to them, stopping for photos and hugs, her smiles genuine as she shows off her trademark red lipstick. Taylor is also an inspiration, as she uses her voice to speak out against the bullies who try to insult her and speaks up for those may be struggling to find their own voices. She is a friend to young women and animals, she is a voice for women, and she is an inspiration to us all. Taylor Swift is written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, who brings the young life of the singer to life with very few words. And her words are illustrated with sweet, colorful illustrations from Borghild Fallberg. This small book packs a lot of information into a short volume, but it is filled with a lot of heart and motivation. This book would be perfect for young Swifties and those who are interested in music at a very young age. Egalleys for Taylor Swift were provided by Frances Lincoln Children’s Books through Edelweiss, with many thanks. ... show more
