  • Works alright
I gave this as a gift for my dad who has always wanted to learn guitar. It was easy to use and he loved it. The songs in the book are okay nothing really in this generation. I only gave it a 4 cause it was either the C or E chord that doesn’t fit perfectly on the guitar and difficult to press down

  • Not what I was expecting but maybe okay for some.
Not as strong quality as I expected. May work for some but so easy to press the buttons unless you have really long fingers.

  • great prouduct
Very good product to keep students practicing. You can play song almost immediately. The book 100 + songs that comes with it is great. Its so much better than trying to play d then trying to find c and so forth. It keeps you interested and also exercises you fingers sonit wont be as hard to play the chords when you take off chords..one by one. I enjoy using chord buddy and practicing strumming along with songs I like on C Ds. There is also a website called megachords.com where you can look up any song you like and get lyrics and chords. You have to work with chord buddy a little to get iy put on correctly. Theres another place you can go to on the chordbuddy website that is more helpful than the CD. ITS A LITTLE TRICKY TO KEEP IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE. keep an electronic tuner on the neck of the guitar to check it. e an get the lyrics as well as the chords ... show more

  • It's good for what it does, but it's not what you might think. You won't learn to play chords, but you might have some fun.
I want to give this 2 stars, but then I realized that I'm not the customer. And I should have done a bit more research before buying the ChordBuddy. This is a great system for those who want to play simple songs on the guitar and get a very rudimentary idea of how to play a guitar. This is not going to teach you to play guitar chords because you hit one button and the ChordBuddy fingers the chords for you. You'll have no idea how the chords are played without your good Buddy. If you want to learn how to strum, then this could help that. Or if you just want to fiddle around with the guitar, it's quite fun. For a certain audience this is a great little device. But before you spend $40 make sure you are that audience. If you want to learn how to play chords, or actually play guitar then this isn't for you. You'll do better getting a chord sticker for the neck of your guitar. 2 Stars for learning to play. 4 Stars for someone ONLY interested in learning to strum and playing around with a guitar. ... show more

  • A bit hard to install but worth the trouble
I did need to look on youtube to get help on the install but after that I was good! Or on the DVD it has video instructions too. I have tried so many guitar teaching tools and i always gave up, but with Chordbuddy I instantly saw results and learned my first song ( sweet home alabama.) This helps you get your picking and strumming down then you slowly remove the chord buttons as you progress. It also helps you build up your finger strength. Tons of materials that costless than about 1 physical lesson LoL. ... show more

  • Works well for the guitar novice
I purchased this for my husband who has recently taken up the guitar. It seems to have really assisted him in learning the chords, and allowed him to even play a few songs. It has been very instructional but also helped lessen the frustration of trying to learn a new musical instrument. My major issue with this product was that it did not come with the advertised Companion DVD and 2 Month Lesson Plan, which was MAJORLY DISAPPOINTING. We realized this well after we had ripped open the box. This makes me wonder if this was a previously used product? Luckily, we were able to locate some of the lessons on YouTube. Otherwise, this would have been a huge waste of money. Overall, this has been a fairly effective product. My husband has picked up the various chords much faster than if he didn't have it. After some more practice, he should be able to remove it and play the guitar without it. ... show more

  • Not for classical guitars, but seems easy and fun to use.
My dad got me an acoustical guitar for my birthday, but it was a classical acoustical guitar and it doesn’t work on that. I didn't know anything about guitars other than I wanted to learn to play, so I spent a good hour trying to get that sucker on there. I ended up sending it back, but had it worked, it seems fairly simple. Even the installation (if it had fit) seems very 'plug and play' for this. So the product I gave 4 stars because it wasn't he product's fault that the whole description and limitations weren't read. ... show more
