Description

Baby Taylor BTe-Koa Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural. The Baby Taylor has maintained is a legitimate musical instrument that anyone can enjoy, and also a great second guitar for experienced players who want a travel guitar that sounds great and is satisfying to play. The three-quarter- size Dreadnought helped touring musicians like Taylor Swift sketch new musical ideas on the road, and it's been a reliable musical accomplice for travelers seeking inspiration while trekking the world. This limited-edition version features a beautiful Hawaiian koa top. All Baby Taylor models ship with a durable travel-worthy gig bag made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection. A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. The Baby Taylor BTe-Koa Dreadnought features solid Hawaiian koa, a hardwood that produces a natural compression, yielding more of a controlled "roll-in" effect to a note. The compression evens out a lively attack for a more balanced response. It delivers strong fundamentals with clear and direct focus - similar to mahogany - but with extra top-end shimmer and chime. The arched back of the Baby Taylor BTe-Koa generates more sound from a small-bodied instrument, and using layered wood back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability. The Baby Taylor BTe-Koa also comes with the Expression System Baby (ES-B) pickup, which incorporates piezo design elements from the flagship Taylor ES2 system. It's powered by an onboard preamp that includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner, an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, and Tone and Volume controls. The preamp/tuner is powered by two button cell 3v lithium ...

  • I love it so much!
Perfect size, perfect color. Great sound!

  • I'm in love..
I'm in love... with this guitar. I have been a professional and touring musician and I own a lot of guitars. I played a Baby Taylor someone else had and was blown away by the the sound and how it felt in my hands. This is not a full-sized guitar... and I'm not a full-sized human (5'6" on a good day) so maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years trying to play guitars that aren't sized appropriately. One issue with finding smaller scale guitars is that they're usually made for smaller humans that are just beginning to learn guitar at a young age so the level of quality is not usually on par with larger guitars. That is not the case here. This guitar is beautiful. It plays great right out of the box. It sounds incredible unamplified and it sounds incredible amplified. The electronics and pickup system in it are top-notch. Built-in tuner works great. I thought that having only one knob to adjust the tone on it would be a limitation but it does all it needs to do. The Koa wood looks and sounds great. Koa has some deeper darker tones to it while keeping a good amount of brightness in the acoustic and amplified sounds. In a guitar this small, I thought the acoustic tone might be too bright but it's perfect. This has become and will likely remain my go-to acoustic guitar to travel with, to play among friends with, and to play shows with. ... show more

  • AMAZING!
I bought this guitar to learn to play with my granddaughter. I was a little disappointed that it went up $100 when I went to purchase, after saving for months. But, it was totally worth what I paid! The artist of this instrument is just as fine as the instrument itself. You will never hear a cleaner, more vibrant guitar than one made with Koa! ... show more

  • Way overpriced
This is my second one and the sound quality on this particular one isn’t impressive, especially for the price! Buzz action unless I play soft and plug her in. YOU PAY FOR THE NAME!!

  • I would recommend that they use generic packaging as UPS left this ...
I ordered this as a gift for my daughter. It arrived in a heavy duty box. The box was marked "Taylor". I would recommend that they use generic packaging as UPS left this on my doorstep (I was home so I brought it right in - but we do have theft in our area so a generic box makes sense). The guitar comes with a beige fabric case, guitar, and batteries for the tuner. We're probably going to invest in a hard case just because it's more protective for the instrument. Out of the box we tuned it up and played it - and it's amazing. The tone is rich and full and you'd never know it's a "baby" model. I know my daughter is just going to LOVE this present. One thing you should know is that the finish on this guitar isn't shiny as pictured - and that is actually what I had hoped. The finish is more satiny (not flat and dull, not shiny). I hope that makes sense. :) ... show more

  • Shipping but great value
Awesome value for what it is. The shipping was poor. It isn’t packaged very well and the first one was damaged after a long wait to get it.

  • Beautiful koa guitar
Beautiful koa guitar, lightweight for travel, set up well for moving around ebony fretboard, substantial volume and pleasant enough sound. I bought this to be a lightweight travel guitar with onboard electronics so I could play it through a small busking amp. So far I'm impressed at the versatility of sounds I can get out of it and the quality of the workmanship for the price. ... show more
