Overall the bed is nice. What you see is what you get. The specs say 6in beds max. I would say 8 is absolutely fine. My nit pick is the ladder rungs are very oddly spaced. Zero thought was put into a toddler climbing up them. My major complaint is the trundle is so poorly designed it will break the first time a kid over 75lbs flops down on it. It will not support an adult. I didn't buy this bed for the trundle, if U had I would stop keep it but it's be pretty pissed because of the not just low quality, but complete lack of thought it design. The work around will be more brackets and wheels to balance and support the weight distribution. If you are at all handy you'll see what I'm talking about. If you don't know why the Pythagorean theorem is valuable today or what it means to measure the diagonals you might not want to buy this bed and count on the trundle. If you want it for 2 kids that are 4yo or older this bed will absolutely work ... show more

This bunkbed/trundle combination is great! Instructions were detailed and easy to understand. This comes in 2 shipments so you won't be able to start one without the other. Learned that the hard way. For the mattress, the max size I'd say is 8 in for the top and middle parts. The trundle you can't go over 6 in. ... show more

I have bought bunk beds in the past and havent been satisfied with the quality, but I cant believe how good of quality these beds are for the price. Set up took a little over an hour, I would recommend building it with another person so each person can work on one bed to speed up the process... I also like how this bunk bed set can be separated into 2 twin beds with a trundle. The wood is very sturdy and will fit teens comfortably and safely as well... I highly recommend ... show more

I loved the concept of the 3 beds. It works for our family and the amount of space we have available. It did take a lot longer than I thought it might to put together. Also you have to be extremely careful with the wood because it can break easily when putting the screws in or bending it a certain way. I don’t really like how the trundle bed isn’t on a track or something. You have to push it in jsit right so usually we have to help the kids put it back. I chose this bed because I didn’t want to spend crazy money on a bunk bed for my boys that I knew they were going to destroy. When I opened the box, the first piece I pulled out was already dented. I wasn’t too happy about it but figured I could live with it and I needed it this weekend for when family came to visit. Pulled out more pieces and a bunch were scratched and dented. The most frustrating is the front of the trundle piece has a huge scratch. I will say that it was easy to put together, I did it myself. I did assemble the top bed on top of the bottom bed rather than assemble and then place on top because I was doing it myself. It’s a little more wobbly than I would like but like I said, I needed the beds for when family came to visit. Let’s just hope it lasts me a year or two. ... show more
