The 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058), launched in 2021, has earned strong praise as a high-end portrait zoom. Developed in response to user demand, the 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A078) focuses on the most essential and popular portrait focal lengths — 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm — in one lens. Despite its fast F2.8 aperture, it achieves a remarkably compact and lightweight design at just 4.7" (119.2mm) and 19.9oz. (565g). Delivering high image quality and soft bokeh, it’s perfect for candid portraits and travel photography. The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme- torque Drive) linear motor provides fast, precise AF to capture natural expressions, and the 8.7" (0.22m) MOD at the wide end is ideal for tabletop shots. I can never call a lens “perfect” but I can’t give this less than 5 stars!!! I just sold my Tamron 35-150 after using it for years. It’s just always been too heavy for me. Enter this bad boy!! It’s practically the same thing (in my experience so far) The quality is on par with the 35-150 (to me that’s crucial). Super sharp as I expected. Unlike the 35-150, it’s not f2 at the widest, but that doesn’t bother me. F2.8 constant is great for low light. Not everything needs to be f0.7 As for the focal length, it is a real loss to not have the 100-150mm range but to me that’s a worthwhile tradeoff when this lens is… LESS THAN HALF THE WEIGHT!!!! The only travel lens you need. Bought this for a trip to Japan and I have no regrets. Was able to capture most of the focal lengths that I needed. The photos are just as sharp as the ones for my 40mm sony G and 85mm evo from viltrox. This is my first zoom lens so I can't comment on this lens being lightweight. The aperture is large is not for portraits, and the focal range is great to give you but extra; making quite versatile. At this price point, you can't go wrong. A sony equivalent would run you $500 plus more. Making this a high value lens. ... show more

Been using it on my a7iii and so far it’s a really good lens, quick and silent auto focus, no optical stabilization but Sonys steady shot and the 2.8 aperture helps out
