  • Five Stars
Great car was all there and once build dose what it's Spose to

  • like the TA02 for example
I own two TT02's. One is my high speed parking lot car. The other is my spare parts chasis. Haha. I'll give this chasis 5 stars in relation to my previous Tamiya's, like the TA02 for example. The TT02 is highly modifiable. I have added Yeah Racing's aluminum conversion kit, Tamiya's high speed gear kit, new spur and pinion gears, etc, etc. I am running a Castle brushless on 3s in this car and she has seen 82 mph.....and I'm not done yet. I have taken the drift potentional out of this car and am building a car to run 1/4 mile asphalt ovals 20 laps at a time. My five star rating here is based on the potential of the TT02, not nessicarily the parts included with the base kit. I used hop up parts in the initial build. But some of Tamiya's parts included with this kit are BETTER than the aftermarket hop ups. The front upper control arms included with the D-spec TT02 are not adjustable, but they are incredibly strong. They have survived numerous high speed crashes where aluminum components failed. The point is, I love my TT02D and am satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

Do not get this car! Mine didn't even come w/ wheels and it is missing a shock! Don't buy

  • Great car, definitely a starter/entry level option
I picked this car up at my LHS. It's a solid chassis, and a lot of fun to drive. One thing to note is that the internal BEC within the ESC failed on me after about 15 minutes of running the car. It's likely my own fault for running a 2S LiPo and Traxxas 2075 steering servo. I ended up installing a Savox SC-1258tg (serious overkill) which is pretty power hungry, so I soldered in an external BEC, and it's running great. I got a good 4 hours of run time in over the weekend with no problems. I had a couple of decent crashes, and the chassis held up well. Especially for drifting, the 25t Sport Tuned motor is more than enough power, but with sticky touring tires, it's a bit weak and slow. The turning radius is also a bit wide, and the car could do with adjustable steering linkages, but drives straight out of the box. The shocks are a bit bouncy and could stand to be adjustable as well. There's a lot of play throughout all of the suspension components that should be shimmed up to provide better handling characteristics as well. All that said, for the price, it's a great car and a blast to drive. Don't expect to go win any races with this guy, particularly without a lot of hop ups, but if you're looking for a car that's fun, this is a great starting point. ... show more
