  • Universal hinge
Pattern Name: 165 Degree Full Overlay
Substantial hinges. Very stiff and difficult to open at first but they’re the exact style needed for a cabinet swinging door. Fit perfectly.

  • Directions? good Luck
Pattern Name: 165 Degree Full Overlay
Bought these to replace broken one on a mirrored medicine cabinet. Measurements were dead on, however, as this particular hinge had an auto close device, getting the hinge to open so it could be installed was a B...h. The only way I could get it to open was to install it on one side and then I could pry it open. Other than the lack of instructions (the video was garbage), everything then worked fine. ... show more

  • used to replace a MEPLA 664.261.53.00
Pattern Name: 175 Degree Full Overlay
You may be wondering if these are a good replacement for a MEPLA 664.261.53.00 hinge. I Googled and couldn't find an answer, so I ordered 4 of these willing to replace all 4 hinges even though only 2 were broken. As it turns out, Amazon sent one pair wrong, so I ended up using only 2 of them. So, will it replace a MEPLA 664.261.53.00? Yes, especially if you replace all of the hinges on the door. In my case, since I only had 2 of the right hinges to work with. I had to make some modifications because the setback on the cabinet side (the cup in the door obviously can't be moved, but is the same as MEPLA) to make them match the existing hinges, but it worked. You will have to drill new holes for both the cabinet and door, but I appreciate that the cabinet mount is stamped plate steel instead of cast metal on the MEPLA, and that it has 4 screws. The 2 screw cast metal mounting plate on the MEPLA was the fail point. Again, if you're replacing all the hinges, just follow their directions. All of the new screws will be in a different place from the old screw holes, so you'll have fresh wood to screw into. Overall, they seem like a good solid hinge. ... show more

  • Great replacement hinges - replaced DTC hinges 165A48 in my medicine cabinet
Pattern Name: 175 Degree Full Overlay
We have two 24”x30” medicine cabinets from Zenith (model MRA2430) which were installed about 9 years ago. The doors started to sag and open funny, and I realized that a few of the hinges had broken. The original hinges were made by DTC hinges (165A48) and I was having trouble finding things that fit without needing to re-drill holes. These Tambee hinges fit perfectly and had the extra benefit of self-closing and soft-closing. I’m no metal expert, but the hinges seem to be well-made and sturdy for these very heavy doors. Super easy to install with the click on process and the video helped show that and explained how to make adjustments up/down, left/right, and in/out. Overall we are very happy we found these and did not have to buy new cabinets. Also we liked the idea we could return if they did not fit right. ... show more

  • Look great, but you get what you pay for
I'm going to try and keep this concise: the goods, the bads, and a few relevant details. First, the goods: They are inexpensive. They look really good. The bads: The metal used is thin and structurally weak, particularly in the screws. The Details: There are a lot of comments regarding the finish not looking as advertised. I was very pleased with the finish. We have both oil rubbed bronze and copper in the room, and this hardware really brings out those colors and seems to match everything. They look fantastic on our teal cabinets. And anyone who has been investigating hinges in this look and finish knows that the range is limited and the price is high. So even though we had to toss every fifth hinge (remember this when ordering; more on this topic shortly), the price was still way better than anything you could buy at one of the box stores. The hinges, apart from the screws, were easy to install on the doors and cabinets. but the metal is so thin, that you can actually see it flexing in spots when opening and closing the doors. They seem to be constructed from an alloy of copper and aluminum foil. I would suggest that this might start causing the doors to sag down the road and, in fact, some of ours aren't as dead-on level as they were when installed, but since I put them in, I'm probably the only one noticing. Still, not a big problem if you're being picky with the hinges. The reason you will have to toss every fifth hinge or so is because the spring pressure on the thin metal of the hinge causes some to bow out a bit, meaning they will not mount flush on the cabinet, causing your door to not close fully. This may be remedied with closing latches, magnets, and clasps for those not wishing to toss any hinges, but not everyone likes this solution. Our house is a hundred years old, so I accept it as part of the charm, but I still tossed the worst offending hinges away. Now, the screws. There is no work-around for this one. Save your old screws or buy some new ones because around 50% of these will strip out on you, and by the time they do, it will be too late to do anything about it. You will be married to the hinge placement and screw tightness. I can't say enough about how correct everyone's review was regarding this. I unwisely disregarded the bulk of them, thinking they didn't take the proper steps of drilling pilot holes, using the correct phillip's tip, applying even pressure, and staying completely vertical with the screwdriver. However, It doesn't matter whether you're driving these screws with a screwdriver, cordless drill, or the blunt end of a hot dog, they WILL strip out! All in all, I would make the purchase again, but be aware of the caveats and plan accordingly. ... show more

  • Works great
Pattern Name: 175 Degree Half Overlay
Instructions aren't the greatest. We installed these as replacements to existing hinges. We were hoping the holes would line up, but unfortunately they did not. We were still able to make them work by modifying the cabinet. They work just as I had hoped. Easy to open but sturdy.
