I bought this inflatable paddle board at WestMarine as a mothers day gift for my wife. The very first time we used it we left if in our boat swim platform to go have lunch. Some time afterwards we heard a loud hissing sound followed by an explosion. Apparently the paddle board overheated and exploded due to higher air pressure caused by the sun’s heat. It left a 1 foot gash on the side making useless and unrepairable. I then noticed it says on the board not to let it sit on the sun as this may happen and , therefore , bye bye warranty. No doubt that was my fault. However it is NOT my fault , and actually theirs, that they built such poorly designed paddle board that cannot stand common outdoor heat. Its beyond me why they did not install a simple pressure release valve or something. Regardless I wasted close to $800. Good thing is it will never happen again who wants to deal with this stress of releasing air, adding air, releasing air, check the valve etc etc. We feel like we were robbed. ... show more
