  • Good board. Included tips if you’re new to SUP
Many positives and one negative on instructions. So far, used it once in the ocean and loved it (inflated/deflated twice, first time for practice at home). I am a 135lb, 5’4” female who doesn’t have a lot of upper body strength or patience for manual pumping, so I bought the battery operated Dr Meter pump on Amazon that inflated the SUP right on the beach in less than 5 minutes! It was then light and easy for me to carry the board to the water and enjoy myself. All those reviews with pictures of women carrying the boards don’t show that it’s not as light as they make it look! I tried the pump that came with board and instructions were very confusing (because they didn’t really have any except a sentence to be careful on what to do if you use dual feature, which I had no idea what that meant - this is where I would recommend company to improve as I thoroughly searched for how to use dual feature and it was not there. Also, instructions in manual didn’t say which way the fin needed to be inserted, had to run to car to get phone to see how it looked on Amazon. It might be obvious to experts but not someone who never installed one). The extras it came with were necessary, such as large backpack. Here are my tips if you’re new to boarding: watch beginners SUP YouTube videos, they really helped to refresh my memory as it’s been a couple years. Watch how to go on board in the ocean as it’s different than in lake. Buy the portable electric pump for convenience, saves time, space and energy. Bring a foldable beach wagon to place deflated SUP +supplies, it was easier for my back to pull wagon than carrying the large backpack (plus wagon can fit more stuff like pump and cooler). Make sure you wear leash that the SUP comes with so you don’t lose board in water. The paddle floats for a while, I tested it in my pool and after 5 minutes I gave up timing it because it was still floating (I wanted to see if I had time to grab it in ocean before paddle began to sink if I fell from board). I did 11 psi in fear that it could have issues if I went higher given that it was new and pump was electric. I was on the water for 45 minutes in super hot weather and had no issues. Next time I will do 12 psi. Wear a life jacket/pfd. Bring a waterproof smart watch if you want to tell time and don’t want to risk losing your phone, Apple is my favorite- cheapest and super convenient. If you can, first practice balancing on lake water. Practice inflating it at home first and don’t forget to insert fin for practice (like I did) to ensure you put in correct way. Make sure you practice adjusting paddle to correct height (check YouTube for tips). Account for time to deflate and fold board as this takes a bit longer, try to put board on beach blanket to minimize sand on it as it attracts a lot of sand when deflating/folding. ... show more

  • Great Board & Beginner Friendly!
This is my first paddle board and I couldn't be happier. I've used this for one season and it's now my favorite watercraft. The 3 fins make the board very stable when standing; I've taken it out numerous times and haven't fallen (yet). I've used it with my dog and even with two kids sleeping on it. I am able to easily maneuver around logs, family members, and other obstacles. I love that I can swap to the dual paddles easily when I want to sit on the board. I used to kayak before I got it, so having that option makes it very versatile and I love not having to do the "paddle flip" like you would with a one-paddle handle. It holds its air very well - we left it inflated for an 8-day camp trip and never had to top it off. Pumping it up can be tiring (I call it my pre-paddle board workout) and can take a bit: I plan to get an electric pump this summer. But it is doable by hand. There are so many bungee straps for storage, which is a great feature and very handy when you're planning to be out for longer trips on the water and have lots of gear. The carry bag is great and I appreciate that it fits everything for easy travel. With 5 in our family plus a fur baby, we have a lot of gear when we're out on the water. The bag makes set-up easy and I don't need to worry about leaving something behind for myself when I'm focused on getting everyone else out the door. I have also received multiple compliments about the color; the purple hues are beautiful! It's also pretty easy to keep clean - before packing it up for longer periods of time I always use some soapy water, a rag, and a magic eraser to remove any scuffs or dirt marks, and it looks like new. Just a few things to consider if you haven't tried paddle boarding before: 1) Don't go over shallow objects like logs, they'll catch on the large fin and it's hard to keep your balance! I've seen people fall in when this happens. (Always a good chuckle, but not fun when you don't want to get wet). 2) Paddle boards are inherently harder to maneuver than a kayak. You can't turn as sharp or as quickly. I use my paddle board almost exclusively, but I still pick my kayak when I know we'll be in faster waters or currents that require more precise maneuvering, especially when I'll be going upstream against the current. 3) The hardest part of standing on a paddle board is getting up (and down). Plant your feet at the widest part of the board and keep your feet spread apart for better balance. Ultimately, if you're looking for a stable, fun, beginner-safe board... this is the board for you! ... show more

  • Great board from a great company! A++ Customer Service!
Style: Royal W Kayak Seat
When my spouse suggested that we get paddle boards (or SUPs like the cool kids say) as a fun way to get exercise outdoors, I thought she was crazy! There was no way I was going to be able to balance my middle aged, top-heavy, uncoordinated self on one of those boards. Well I'm here to say, if you're doubting that you can participate in this activity due to age or body shape, HAVE NO DOUBT! This board is amazingly sturdy and easy to use. It came with everything you need: the multi use oar (to kayak when sitting, or paddle when standing), the detachable fin, an easy to use pump, a waterproof bag to carry stuff in when you're on the water, bungie cords to hold everything down on the board, and a sturdy carrying case. Speaking of the pump, it was easy to use but I'm a wimp and haven't built up my strength and endurance yet, so we bought an electric pump. Setting up the board and taking it down is a breeze. The board itself is super steady and firm. I can easily switch positions without feeling like I'm going to fall off. The only issue I had was that the clamp on the oar broke the second time I had it out on the lake. It's possible that I over-tightened it. But I'm not sure. Rather than trying to settle it through Amazon, I reached out to ROC directly. They responded to my e-mail super quick (on a Sunday no less) and by Monday, they were sending me a replacement oar. I think this is amazing because the accessories aren't normally covered under their warranty. 10/10 would recommend this board and this company! ... show more
